Well said and right on. I have a friend who puts off buying 7.62 and 5.45 thinking it will always be available at $.25/rnd but if something happens in Ukrane it may not be. Get what you can when you can because you never know; then you can shoot no matter what the situation is.

The way I look at it, I am swapping fiat currency for ammo, just like when you buy gold.

For about the 10,000th time...FLIPPERS do not drain the supply chain since they are redistributing ammo. You may not like their prices, but they are selling it and buyers are buying it. The affect to supply is zero.

HOARDERS, on the other hand are creating a shortage in the market that allows the flippers to prosper.

While it sounds much more noble to declare "I just bought 30k but I won't resell it for a profit because I'm just going to keep it for myself", the fact is that guy just took 30k rounds out of the marketplace and the ensuing scarcity allows the flippers to sell theirs at a higher price.

You can make the argument that without flippers flipping, hoarders wouldn't need to feel the need to hoard. However, I've seen plenty of posts where people have remarked how fortunate they were to have the insight to "stock up" on 10k's of rounds years ago and don't have to deal with the flippers' high prices. So people will hoard without the presence of flippers, but people cannot flip without the presence of horders (or some other artificial shortage). That 50k that Mr. Insight stocked up on 5 years ago is 50k that Troop 22 can't buy because it's no longer in the supply chain.

Was at the Crossroads gun show at OC Fairgrounds earlier today and prices were pretty expensive - between $60 and $75 for a brick of 525 rounds. The one seller that was selling much cheaper would only sell 100 rounds per person. Paid about $33 for a brick at Turners about a month ago but I think they sold it to me because I was picking up a 22 revolver that day.

This wont help you guys much but I went to my local Wally World this am and amazing find, .22 ammo in stock, usually they are cleaned out by 8 am. Remington gold bullets, 325 round boxes for $11.93 each. I don't like the gold bullets so I left them there for someone else.

I don't see prices going down. I only see them going up online (about 3 cents per round in the last 6 months). I also haven't seen .22 in stores for ages.

Interesting how back in my youth, Remington Golden Bullet 22 ammo was considered the "Good stuff"---now their QC seems to have fallen off a cliff...
