I really hope there is not another Sandy Hook type panic scare that screws everything up again.
I do not mean to single you out but calguns members should stop saying things like that in a public forum. You jinx us all and now some asshat libtard WILL go and try to do something just to get his 15 minutes of fame and make us look bad and then all the ammo is bought up again...

We need to push for a SMARTER America. Maybe push the idea that if you want to kill the MOST people in the fastest time, then you need to shoot yourself first because you are the easiest, then when everyone else is gathering around your corpse, you can come back to life and shoot all the people you want...

I am sure someone will believe that if we push it hard enough. :\

I recently sold some 22lr. Had 558 rounds in the classifieds for $35 or $30 with NRA card. Got 3 offers and took a week before someone said they'll take it. Ended up selling for $30. Sold 500 CCI mini mags for $45 that I got as part of a trade.

Yes. My guess is that .22LR prices will end up at a lower price equilibrium than the past "normal" period. By all accounts ammo manufacturers have added capacity. Balancing that, though, is that there seems to be more shooters. Overall though, supply and demand, absent malevolent or incompetent Government meddling, will push prices to a much more reasonable level.

I would like to think that more legitimate shooters who participate in shooting sports, join the NRA, support the 2nd Amendment, ect are the main reason for the shortage of .22 lr ammo.

Unfortunately that is entirely not true. There are the hoarders(not that there is anything wrong with that, I am one of them), and then there are the scum bags that see this panic as a business opportunity and aggressively buy any .22 lr to resell for twice as much. People are still willing to pay twice as much for .22 lr so until they stop it'll keep going round and round.

Until most shooters get all the ammo they want the .22 lr panic is going to keep going. Some people are happy with 5,000 rounds, some want 10,000, some want 100,000. Either way crazy buying patterns are here to stay for a while.

22lr is the most basic of ammo to stock up on---this is not hoarding---this is being prepared for the next ammo panic. After all, if you have a decent stash of 22, you can still do a lot of shooting even if the supply of centerfire ammo is hard to get. Again, I say be patient folks, the supply of 22 is getting a lot better and the prices are going down...

22 rim fires shouldn't cost more then 12 gauge someone is making a killing and laughing all the way to the Bank!

last week i found some federal automatch at walmart in the middle of the day. They also had maybe 20-30 boxes of cci standard velocity in 50rd boxes. Maybe the 7am'ers finally gave up, or maybe they started stocking in the middle of the day. Either way I was jazzed.
