Walmart Ammo Flippers.

With SB53 likely passing, I have been buying as much as I can. I have 13k of .22lr and want about 7k more. That should hold me and my boys off for a couple of years. Most of it has been bought for .05 to .06 per round. I don't plan flipping it either. I hope sales happen for .223 because I need some more of that too.

People can call everybody a hoarder or flipper and hate them all they want but the reality is, if you want ammo you are going to have to put a little effort into it.

Some hoarders and flippers line up at Wal-mart or whatever store at some ungodly hour in the morning almost every day dragging their family or friends along with them. I tried doing that a few times for a weekend shoot and came up with nothing. It takes some dedication and it isn't easy. So whatever ammo they got they worked for it. I personally wouldn't pay for their "services", but there are also more people with money than time and are willing to pay for it.

There's a bunch of helpful people up in the rimfire ammo section looking and sharing ammo finds everyday. Some of the very people being called hoarders or flippers in this thread are the very people sharing ammo finds almost every day helping fellow Calgunners and I say Thank You! to them.

I bought some ammo recently from member lowandslow. This guy spends some of his time looking for all kinds of bulk ammo to buy at a good price, and sells it at a good price. He could make money on it but chooses not to, because it's the right thing to do. He is one of the good guys for sure.

I've been known to do that.

In fact yesterday I gave away 2 boxes of .22's to a young couple that were shooting for the very first time.

His brother gave him a Ruger 45 and the RO told them to rent a .22 and shoot that first. Not sure on the rental price but he charged them $16 for 50 rounds of .22's. I wanted to help them have fun and hope they stay with the hobby.

I hoped it worked.

Kudos for helping out some new shooters.... I would thinki twice about supporting ANY range that charges someone $16 per 50 rounds of .22lr. Seems the range is into gouging more than people who flip ammo.

One of the good guys. Those with large stashes of .22lr should consider doing this when the opporunity arises. Helps the sport and shows new shooters that we are not the whackos that the left protrays us to be.

.22 is the new spare change.....I pass it out to fellow shooters who are running low. Always makes a good impression and shows not all gun owners are crazy hoarders,

Yep...he may be a one of the good guys and I'm glad he helped you out. To some people, he is still technically a hoarder or flipper and just because they cant get their Wal-mart ammo any time they want, they will cry about it and say lowandslow is part of the problem.

i dont make profit from any ammo i do let go and i spend a ton of my time and energy goin to walmarts here and the lsg etc on ammo searches. i have32,000 rounds of 22. so what part of this makes me a bad guy??

Many places have not raised prices and while I had to be patient for the right deals, I usually got them. What happens when SB53 get passed and we can't order online anymore? Most of the LGS I visit in San Diego start at .07 cents a round. The LGs will have to charge more to keep up with costs of being an authorized licensed seller. I am certain prices will jump to .09 or .10 cents a round.

I will continue to buy as much as I can until I hit 20k for around .05 cents around. Why should I wait and pay twice as much per round after January?

You are going to remember the good ol days when prices were low....even with hoarders and flippers.

The stamp is hard to see, but it's on the top portion of the box in the photo..

Uh oh, we got a hoarder and a profiteer in the covington house.

I don't buy and flip. I will sell off stockpile to realize a profit though. Basically that business model is out when the supply loosens up. I also have the sig line for a reason. Nothing else comes first. It basically comes down to are you wanting what is basically welfare from others to make sure you have ammo because you were caught unprepared? Or are you going to use this as a learning opportunity and make sure it doesn't happen to you again? Unfortunately, the times being what they are, and the amount of people realizing their own prior mistakes, the curve is now steeper to get where one might feel comfortable with their amount of ammo stashed. Again, I ask the question "what defines a hoarder?" Is it 100 rounds is it a million? Should I subsidize others lack of ammo? Sounds pretty socialist in here. my first and foremost reason for laying supply in is for myself and family. I feel I was doing some others a service by even letting some supply go at the time. If something bad does happen I also have meat and food supply laid in both on the hoof and in the larder. Like it or not guns and ammo have become a commodity. It is only going to get worse as the deadline for current and future legislation comes about.

Kiss my @**, not directed at the quotee...check the rimfire ammo finds. there are deals popping up there all the time. You just have to be fast. That will probably prompt some complaints about how others are ordering too much when the deals do pop up. "Waaaahhh I can't take time to check my computer etc." The slowest zebra on the veldt gets eaten.

Hoarders are people who have an obsession for gathering up stuff, storing it and refusing to give it up, use it or throw it away. Flippers are people who buy stuff and then sell it at higher prices. Two different animals.

Folks who buy a lot of ammo and shoot it are just being prepared for when it is either not available (like now) or when the price is going way up (like now) or in the future such as when our state outlaws our ability to purchase ammo online (probably in the new future).

Another way to look at is to get oneself prepared when a shortage appears to be looming on the horizon. All the complaining will not ever change this situation but hey its a free country so no problem with complaining.

That's interesting but I wonder what WalMart can do if someone resells a box of their ammo. Once its out the door of WalMart they no longer have control or say in what happens to it. There is no law, Federal or State that says a private citizen cannot sell ammo to another private citizen. There are laws to be followed, 18 yrs old for rifle ammo and 21 yrs old for pistol pistol but beyond that I am not aware of any law prohibiting the sale of ammo between private persons. Heck our Market Place Forum is full of offers.

I think the sticker is trying to scare off the uninformed.
