Buy in bulk when its cheap.... You'll save a ton of money compared to even buying at Walmart. When you have bulk, you dont have to worry about the current price of ammo because you have what you need for the next year+.

I've been accused of hoarding ammo just because when .22LR can be found for $120/case and NO ONE seems to be buying cases of rimfire... I buy 10. It's just silly. You people who complain about people selling ammo when things are expensive are silly.

    Stop acting stupid.

I think we all understand that, the problem is that there is not enough 22 ammo around to buy in bulk. At least for a reasonable price. Sure I can spend 20c a round for 22lr, but at that rate I would rather pick up some 5.56/223 for a little more.

The whole bonus about shooting 22lr is because it's cheap, well not so much anymore.

This whole conversation is lame....with pending ammo legislation, it makes sense to buy what you can now. Is the OP going to complain when he has to get a background check amd pay even more to buy ammo? I'm sure it will be plentiful in CA then. WalMart will probably stop selling it then due to the added costs of record keeping for them. Like they did with guns in the CA stores. Then what? Quit snivelling. After the '09 ammo law, I started buying up what I could afford. I guess some would call me a hoarder, but I've got ammo to shoot, and won't have to be buying it in this $#!+hole state. The welfare mentality is invading calguns too.

I did exactly the same thing when the 2009 law as enacted. As a result my grandkids will be shooting my ammo long after I'm gone. I am still buying ammo but the good stuff, by the case. Currently less cost that buying bulk in most cases.

i went through 2k rounds this weekend and visited a couple of big-5s monday morning, out of the 3 i went to 2 still had 525 bricks available ($35) even after an hour opening. the staff said there's less people lining up compared to 3-6 months ago and i've scored at walmarts too just have to be persistent and try new stores!

Remmington just broke new ground on a plant in Arkansas. Should be up by the middle of next year.

In fact yesterday I gave away 2 boxes of .22's to a young couple that were shooting for the very first time.

His brother gave him a Ruger 45 and the RO told them to rent a .22 and shoot that first. Not sure on the rental price but he charged them $16 for 50 rounds of .22's. I wanted to help them have fun and hope they stay with the hobby.

                  I hoped it worked.
One of the good guys. Those with large stashes of .22lr should consider doing this when the opporunity arises. Helps the sport and shows new shooters that we are not the whackos that the left protrays us to be.

Very hard to buy bulk when everyone online is limiting you to one box of the same type. Some will allow two.Point is the people that are getting it are the ones flipping it. One of the Walmart managers said there is a rumor in the company that soon they will be limiting customers to one box of 22. He said people are complaing that every morning its the same guys and they want to keep enough through out the day for other customers. Dont qoute me on it but that is what I heard.

I would be perfectly fine with that. BTW, a lot of people are hoarding it because of the flippers. If the flippers wernt flipping the ammo, the would be more on the shelf and people would be comfortable with what they have in reserve. Having the shelves empty puts everyone in panic mode.

I see that as well. Some come in, ask for a specific caliber and if there is none, they bolt. Unfortunately the price of gas deters me from going to WM every week.

I've heard that line "some to go around" many times. However in practice, it varies depending on store and location. If WM wants to limit to 1 box, that is their prerogative. Most people must be tired of the same person or their family coming in daily and cleaning them out.

As for limits, let's face it there are limits at most places. All the stores including Big 5, WM, Turners even online all have them.

Regarding bulk 22, yea its been hard to find. I did get a Bucket of Bullets and 2,100 rounds of Federal w/ can due to the diligence of our eagle eyed Calgunners. Come to think of it, most of my 22 ammo scores was from this forum.

Who cares what people do with their Walmart ammo? There was plenty of decent priced ammo online this week. Especially all the Aguila from Midway.

I hate stepping foot in walmart. I'd rather have my friendly ups man bring me my ammo.

Not so "decently priced" once you add in the $18+ shipping and handling on your limit one box order.
