It's a damn shame cause even with the hoarding going on there would be some ammo sitting on the shelves. Stop buying from the flippers and they will drop out.

I buy Wolf, SK, and Eley any time I need it. If you know the right places to get it, it's no problem. I bought 6 boxes of Federal Auto Match at Walmart 2 weeks ago. Went back last week and bought 600 rounds of Winchester 9mm last week. I don't see a shortage. There was a problem with the same people buying it several months ago, but most have stopped in this area.

It's in SoCal. I buy what I can when I'm there. In the last two months I aquired about 1500 rds. I dont think I'm part of the problem. I also shoot every two weeks. The flippers are there everytime it comes in, so I hoard what I can and shoot about 200rds about once or twice a month.

                This.

I took a look in the ammo cabinet this morning...found I've got 18 bulk pack boxes. All from China Mart and a mix between federal and remington and winchester. Also almost 3 cases of CCI, a few hundred rounds of .22 short and a couple boxes of .22 lr shot.

None were bought in bulk, just a box or 2 anytime I was near a China Mart over the last 4 or 5 years.

It's far easier to get a little often, than to ***** and moan that you ran out and need to go shooting in an hour.

Don't blame industrious folks who get up early to catch the worm and the ammo. That seems to be what it takes now, at least for local purchase at a more or less normal price.

If you wanna' blame anybody, look in the mirror. It's a biatch, isn't it.

It won't lose them customers to increase the price, so why would they try and increase supply and risk the capital expenditures of more machines/rent/labor?

I've purchased at least 7k rds of 40gr mini-mags, winchester super-x, CCI SV, and M22 in the past 2 months online. Final shipments are on the way. Priced from .06pr to .09pr. On top of all the 5.56, .45acp and 9mm I've purchased online. I've given up on my Tracy WM. All for personal stash, I never sell/give away. Needless to say I've spent A LOT of time online hunting/refreshing. Oh it's out there.

Manager at Manteca Wally told me it's the same 4 guys every morning and one is LE. You can't rely on one source for ammo. When you find a deal/regular price stock up. Happy hunting.

I buy cases at a time. You'll have to spend 200-500 depending upon the ammo, but can shoot for a looooong time before you have to buy again.

Also, it's actually cheaper to buy in bulk.

SGAmmo, Midway, Cabelas, targetsportsusa. It takes dedication, but once it shows up, have an account at all of these places and buy asap.

Oh, and use Gunbot, create an account, set-up price alarms.

I've been known to do that.

In fact yesterday I gave away 2 boxes of .22's to a young couple that were shooting for the very first time.

His brother gave him a Ruger 45 and the RO told them to rent a .22 and shoot that first. Not sure on the rental price but he charged them $16 for 50 rounds of .22's. I wanted to help them have fun and hope they stay with the hobby.

                              I hoped it worked.
                              Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
