Ditto!Originally posted by SolomonGrundy1I ordered 5 AR Tactical and could care less if they cancel. I have so much ammo now that 1,500 rounds is like one feather on a bird.
The only thing I (want now) is more Federal 2,100 Round Ammo Cans and 325 FF Cans, I just love the way they look.

love them cans for storage, stack so nicely.
also ordered the tacs, dont care if they cancel since so few/box it really does not make it worth it.

We "HOARDERS" also pass on bricks at our cost to friends who can't stand in line and try and beat out the flippers.Still wondering why you think flippers are responsible for the shortage? Flippers are re-introducing the ammo to the marketplace, albeit at a high price. The point is that it's still getting sold and it's still making it into the buyer's hands. It's not affecting supply/demand and buyers are still buying it. The HOARDERS...and you can debate whether the righteous people that buy 50k from this thread but have a halo around their head because they're only buying it for themselves to shoot are hoarders...are the ones that are taking inventory out of the marketplace and affecting the supply available to others. Flippers don't cause shortages, hoarders do.
As I said, pawn shops around here are sucking the shelves dry within 50 miles in every direction, but there are plenty of meth heads buying it for "their kids".
You don't spend $150 every Saturday, yes, over 3,000 rounds every Saturday on your kids!!!
Our Walmart has a 3 box limit even on the bricks so a guy and his wife will buy 6 and they seem to show up on Saturday. Some bring 4 or 5 friends so there is no telling how much they get.
They do it at Academy too, and anywhere else that gets ammo at retail prices.
Back in 2013 people were posting their pictures on Facebook...they'd be sitting in their cars before daylight at Academy which don't open until 8 or 9...I never went....20 miles for nothing.Last edited by Yankee495; 02-19-2014, 11:19 AM.Comment

That makes zero sense. If I buy a brick of ammo from a flipper for $50, I'll definitely buy that same brick of ammo from a retail store for $25 if the flipper didn't take it. In both cases the amount of ammo available to the marketplace is the same and in both cases the ammo is sold. It's immaterial what the price is in that example, because it's sold in both cases.
The hoarder or "I'm only buying the crap out of ammo to shoot myself or for my friends" guy takes a brick of ammo out of the marketplace and puts it in his garage. If I'm not fortunate enough to be friends with the hoarder, then I'm left to purchase in the marketplace where there is now one less brick to buy. I then have to spend all of my time searching for back doors into the retail outlets or I spend more $$ with a flipper.
The flipper is taking advantage of the condition caused by the hoarder. I know it's more noble to be stocking up for a .22lr apocalypse than it is to be profiting off of fellow shooters, but all of this hate towards flippers is misdirected. And for the record, I personally am hoarding, not flipping.
That's a pretty bad failure of logic. The current inventory of the flippers was taken from the normal sales inventory. It can be reintroduced as you mention but whatever hasn't been yet has been taken from the market for the express purpose of adding cost without adding value. The current flipper inventory could end the shortage today. Those who stock up are the only guard against flippers crashing a market.

Normal sales inventory, there isn't any where I live and right after you get done standing in line and getting nothing you can go home and buy it for $60 from the same people that were in front of you!
Trucks come in at 6-7 PM. They are there at 2PM! After 4-5-6 hours in line you get nothing. I'm glad I found this thread.Comment

I do the same if I see something at Cabelas, Gander, or Wally World that I don't use but my buddies do. Just about all the WW's in our neighborhood have a one box limit on 22lr if over 300 rounds. Three boxes total of all handgun ammo.We "HOARDERS" also pass on bricks at our cost to friends who can't stand in line and try and beat out the flippers.

I keep hearing about all these flippers at WW. They haven't been in our area for 6 months. Waiting a hour or two for one bulk box doesn't cut it for them. Most of the LGS have ammo, even 22lr. It might 100% markup from what you pay at Gander or WW, but it's there.
Also around here, and even last year in NV, there are no "panic" buyers. I don't know what that term means. For some people, ammo is hard to get. I don't know why, but it is. I've stated before that I feel two years ago "normal" was actually a "glut". I don't believe we will EVER see that again. There are too many new shooters and it's still a cheap family outing. Also, people now like to have some inventory on hand, any where from six months to 3 years, I would say. If you shoot 3-4 times a week like my buddies do, that's 20-40 K a year. It's not panic buying, it's just smart. If it's available, and if you can afford it, and it's the kind your guns like, buy it. It will NEVER be cheaper, at least not if you are buying from WW or Gander, etc. Just my two cents worth.Actually Sue's Husband

Why would you bother buying the 9 cent a round box when you get the IDENTICAL round for 8 cents??

At 1st i bought to have plenty in stock so i could shoot when i wanted. I now look at it like MY future of being able to cont my hobby down the road that the easiest for my wallet to handle.haha So if i see a good deal (at whats a good deal nowadays) ill buy.
What AMAZES me the most though is how some will pretty much make fun of you, joke around but you know there really not joking. For how you buy ammo ( not just. 22). But im shooting what i buying, not saying "i cant, i dont have enough). And the best, hey can i buy some off of you. Ive shared this thread, the links used to purchase, etc. Some people just dont get it.

Whatever makes your unethical behavior seem okay to you... But I'm sure you aren't of course... The fact remains that if the flipper inventory was released at retail the "shortage" would be over. People are responding to flippers by getting enough to tell the flippers to FOAD. which is exactly what they should do. They are scum and none of your circular reasoning follows logic. That makes zero sense. You want insult to add to that? Most of them are welfare leaches flipping for undocumented income all of which you and I get to pay for since we work for a living.I agree with inbox, he said "The current inventory of the flippers was taken from the normal sales inventory".
