Some observations on Cabelas.

After watching Cabelas website for a year and a half, using charts and auto adds, in the past few weeks I have noticed a few changes. For the most part, changes in situations like these are for the worse.

What I like. Whenever I check on a shipment, I do the copy/past routine directly at the UPS website. I keep a link under "tracking" and it is simple and quick. Now, when you go to "view order" under "order history" to get the tracking number, beneath the tracking number, there is up to date info, all the way from shipping notice issued, to the last stop, to "out for delivery" to "delivered". This is relatively new.

Another thing I have noticed that is new in the past few days is the automatically issuing of "backorder" to multiple orders of the same items made the same day. Lately I have been a "good boy" and have not ordered multiple orders of the same items the same day. In fact, I haven't this year.

I keep reading people here say their order(s) are in back order. Yes, for the first few minutes, it may go into backorder, but it comes right out "in stock". Then a couple days ago, I order the tacts along with an ammo box. NO problem. In fact the order is shipped already. A few minutes later I ordered another ammo box, a T shirt, and I put another tact in with it. The tact went into BO and never came out. The box and shirt have since been shipped, the tact is still BO.

This morning I did basically the same thing with the SP. I made a single order, then I ordered a scope mount and added another SP. First order, no problem. Second order, the SP stayed in BO. It remains to be seen if they get shipped.

Now I know why there's so many complaints about backorders.

Some people like good ammo and are willing to pay a little more for it.

It's not a good deal if you don't find much difference between Mini-mags and the cheaper stuff. For me, though, it's definitely worth it. I would trade 500 rounds of Thunderbolts for 300 rounds of Mini-mags any time. Just personal preference, I guess.

The blazer i ordered on the 13th shows backorder but the AR Tactical I bought in the same order shipped yesterday. As of right now the swamp ppl i bought 3 hours ago still shows backorder. I think if you got greedy and ordered more then a couple AR Tactical at once , then there is a chance they wont ship for a while

My Tactical orders came from Wisconsin and all had 5 hour energy drinks in them.

Once again...It doesn't matter whether you place an order over the weekend or on Monday - it won't ship out until Tuesday. Unless a great deal comes along, keep the wallet closed until Gander's ammopalooza (which should happen Monday or Tuesday). As of this writing, CCI mini-mags 'Swamp People' are available at Cabela's for a dime a round (w/ shipping - Qty 300). Its an OK cost for CCIs but you could do better (http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shoot...80%7C104536080).

I know what is up with all these multiple orders of the same product in one day. That's disappointing news. There has been enough ammo coming in regularly now that you shouldn't have to try to cheat the system.

Mine is on the truck. It wasn't cheating. At the time I ordered there was no limit on the tactical. Placed only one order. So why the ban call. This is my second order in 2 months. first was a 525 round box and now 4 boxes of 300. So tell me, how am I abusing the system? I'm hardly a hoarder.
