For those around South Orange county, On-Target in Laguna Niguel is having a huge ammo sale tomorrow.

I DROS'd a gun there 3 weeks ago and I asked if they happen to have any .22LR ammo hidden anywhere. The reply I got was kind of surprising, she said, "actually we do have some but we are trying to keep it for our big ammo sale next month". I have no idea regarding the prices, but they seem like they have fair prices for everything else.

It would have been nice to have a brick of M22 or something else to go with the Blazers but after watching for that all week and not being able to pull it off - it was time to buy some. Not too worried about the cost per round. If nothing else it will be a brick I pass along at cost to somebody

Blazers only have to be "minute of pop can" out of a Gallery Pump or a M&P 15/22 or 10/22 - go BANG - Cycle the gun - make the kids smile! If they do that they are perfect.

Its been a few weeks. I am pretty well stocked, and told myself that I would ONLY jump for more selective ammo (CCI) or hard to find ammo. Got the BLAZERS, are they as good as the typical CCI stuff?

Also the first time Cabelas has regularly BOed anything I ordered.
            Not complaining, just saying
This BO stuff that is going around is something I don't understand. I've probably had 400 orders from Cabelas in the last year and a half, and I bet I've have 10 BO's and they were either around 12/3 with free shipping or when the Swamp People came up on 2/15. Otherwise no BO's in the past 6 months. Sure hope it's not contagious.

Note, the date 12/3 was a problem with Cabelas. They had a few dates like that. I remember one I think it was in April where the M-22's were up for nearly two days. A lot of BO's and a few cancelations. Someone forgot to turn the faucet off.

You know how .22s are, you'll have to see how they run in your gun. But I'd say from prior threads that generally people are happy with them by bulk ammo standards.

I guess that means, NO? The normal CCI stuff pretty much cycles and is reliable with any .22 firearm across the board.

I got an email this morning stating the Rem Yellow Jackets I ordered during free ship December have a new b/o arrival date of 03/25/14.
Don't get your hopes up as I tend to side with HG on this 1.
I've had plenty of BO's w/Big C the past year, with multiple items in most and they all come through eventually.
That being said, they usually all tend to show the same date which then gets pushed if it doesn't materialize.

Inbox coined it best so I recently gave a shake asking if our new date would be on-time:

I'd pick anything CCI over most other 22lr brands any day of the week. Since blazers come in little 50rd boxes, I wouldn't consider it bulk. They were previously sold in 525rd loose bulk boxes, but I haven't seen those for some time now.

Well... let's talk bout my .22 AR. I started it with mini mags since that's what I always use for breaking in a new gun and I had 20% jams. I started trying every kind of .22 I had and the only thing that ran reliably was Remington subsonics - the only Remington I've ever had luck with. After a brick of that I retested and more ammo started working but still not the CCI. After a thousand rounds of other stuff the mini mags started working 100%.

Oddly enough the ammo that's currently most accurate in it is CCI Standard.

You'll just have to try it. But no, I wouldn't expect the 5 cent/round CCI to be up to the standard of the 8/cent round CCI. Depending on your use you may or may not care.

Personally my go-to bulk round is the Federal in those 525 packs, but it's been a while since I've been able to get it at a reasonable price. If supplies were normalized I'd use Federal bulk, CCI for mid-grade, SK Magazine for serious rifle practice, Wolf Match Extra for matches. (SK Magazine is Wolf Match Extra that failed quality control for accuracy and was bulk packed. Sweet ammo.)

There's some very good ammo that's bulk packed. The little boxes are mostly a marketing thing. For whatever reason CCI decided to reposition it since it's better ammo than the Winchester and some Federal non-bulk pack. I meant bulk above more as a quality tier - bulk / target / match which is more or less an industry standard although nobody's ever really defined exactly what any of that means.

The blazers for me in my M&P 22, i cannot tell the difference from the mini mags except for the bullet without the brass coating. So as long as you are not going to throw them in a loose pack can... you will be fine
