I made the exact same mistake. Didn't realize there was a spring in there that went to who knows where. Couldn't find a part number anywhere for the actual spring. The best solution I found was to remove a spring from a ball point pen. Took a little trial and error before I cut the length close enough. Had to sort of bend out one end to "flair" it out to hold the safety detent in place. It's not perfect but is functional.

Hey Chaos47,

Received the Boyd's stock. Very nice. Rifle feels more hefty. The comb is much higher. With the recoil pad it probably added another 1/4" onto the length of pull. The only odd thing is the barrel looks like it is too short for the stock. The original stock measured about 9" from the muzzle to the start of the forestock. The Hunter stock leaves about 6" of exposed barrel. Haven't been to test it at the range yet. Checked and the barrel is free floated all the way back to the action. Really like it. Showed a photo to another 795 owner and he liked it. Boyd's also threw in a nice Boyd's cap with the order.

CCI Blazer works well in any gun i have, no fails. Cant say that for other brands.

Nice to see that syn stock go! A branch broken off a tree for a stock would be better than these syn stocks.

I know they are a bit pricy considering the cost of a whole rifle.. but I love my DIP metal guard and wide trigger...

Love mine as well. The original polymer trigger guard just didn't hold up.

I froth over turners ads. I think it helps keep ppt sales lower too. As in asking price. I generally see same condition pistols $50-$100 less down south. Especially noted on any # glock or revolver.

Thanks for the lead. If ever visiting down there I want to check it out. They even advertise the high point carbines with button. Not every ones cup of tea, but interesting as that is a custom mod. And that they make or available. Some dealers here were scared by FUD to even handle a one off shipment already converted to ca legal status.

Marlin 795 Trigger Assembly, Removal and Re-install Pictorial

So, earlier I posted I snapped my trigger guard at the dreaded rear take down screw. I called Marlin and after a bit of coaxing they sent me a replacement, which arrived in a week or two. Like others have reported, they sent the trigger guard only/empty, so I had to remove and re-install the safety and trigger parts.

Thought I'd take the chance to document it with pictures a bit.

Phew! Glad you approve bro!

God bless people who take the time to do detailed write ups... that shizzle took me like 2 hours yesterday (mostly cause I launched the dang spring) and another few hours today to process the pics, arrange, write and post. Hopefully my pain benefits somebody along the way.

How are you guys mounting your scopes? I bought a somewhat cheap bushnell 4x32, and it came with rings. I just attached them to the standard rail that comes on the gun, and tightened and retightened them, but no matter what after 50 to 100 rounds or so the scope will slip. I've seen a picatinny mount you can put on top, do those work well? Maybe it's just the cheap scopes problem
