Im using .129 for sk std +. last time i checked drop at 100 yds for a 50 yd zero was about 7 moa. Its close but i dont think it will x-ring a target just using the calculator. Ive found that you still need some fine tuning to get it right on. Works well for getting on pap er at long distances w/ high power rifle. But i dont think theres a chart or calculator out there thats better than good dope.

I think the tables call for about 7 MOA, but I'm up at 8 MOA at 100 yards (50 yard zero), and that's at 3500' of altitude (100 yard range).

Which seems backwards, but like I said, I'm going to confirm the distances with a contracter's tape. I'm not looking for x-ring accuracy, but I do want to shoot the .22 at longer ranges (upwards of 300 yards on our higher-altitutde range) and would like to nudge everything so I'm at least in the ballpark.

So how much does temp. and altitude affect a .22?? I shoot anywhere from 120-1300ft. and from 35-90 degrees?? I've only noticed minimal effects when plugging numbers into the calc.

A bump to call attention to the Match. I know the weather has not been good but still a lot of time left in the month for some shooting. I'm under 18" of snow this weekend and 16 degree temps so tough to get out and shoot. Hope to see some more targets before month's end.

I'll be posting the April match as well and will be adding a 15 and 25yd Pistol Match. Requested by some fellow members so we'll give it a try.

I tried to shoot yesterday (not enough snow to stop me getting in), but a series of snow squalls were coming in -- along with the 20 mph wind, the 35 mph gusts, horizontal snow, and "damn, I can't feel my face or my fingers" sensations.

Not exactly ideal for a 3/4" group at 100 yards.

You are a real trooper to try shooting in that weather. I froze just running my snow blower for 30 minutes. Then it dumped another 8 inches on my driveway last night and CalTrans built a nice 3 ft snow berm at the top of my driveway. Still, gotta love the snow.

Most of the snow is staying south of us, but it's damn cold; couldn't force the utility room door open this morning when the dog had to go out (froze).

All I really wanted to do was work on the 100 yard targets; as soon as it warms and the 300 yard range opens up, I want to get the .22 out to 200 and 300 yards, just to see what's going to happen...

One of the few nice weather days AND I happened to have it off. Drove 40 minutes up to Los Altos gun club, set up my stuff after making sure I had everything packed the night before. Opened up the range box to get the....DANG, I FORGOT THE FREAKIN TARGETS SITTING ON THE PRINTER. This was after I ran out of printer ink halfway through printing. All targets were not shot with a Savage MKII BV w/ Nikon 6-18x40 scope.

Pistol matches may continue in following months based on number of participants.

For each target indicate your total score and if not already indicated on the target note the distance shot and what type of sights. Ex: Score =xxx, Iron Sights, Scope, Red Dot. No fair shooting iron sight targets with a scope for score.

Rules:
This is an online match. Print off the targets, shoot where and when you want. Come back and post your targets for those in your face bragging rights!! I do encourage meeting up with other match shooters. Any rimfire firearm is eligible. Shooting from a benchrest, prone, sitting, standing, hood of your car, leaning against a tree is acceptable. Using a rest in which the Rifle/Pistol can be locked down is verboten.

I've been looking forward to this. I just got the used Savage MKII semi dialed in. I have about 300 rounds though it so far. Hope I dont stink up the match too much.

I started shooting in these matches over a year ago. I was not very good at it but after a few months I kept getting better. Good luck in this month's match, post up those shot targets.
