The problem with the Federal bulk pack ammo is kind of odd. I mis-typed in the other post, it fires fine, but the brass likes to stick in the chamber after firing and I have to push it out with a cleaning rod. Either the case in the Federal is thin or the extractor doesn't like the shape of the cartridge rim.
I had problem with Walmart Federal bulk pack in some of my small .22s (Taurus PT-22, Beretta 21a). Come to think of it, the AA conversion had those issues with it, too. Oddly, none of my larger .22s had that issue. Heavier slide/more robust extractor, perhaps?

I'll snap some pics when I get home. I wish I took a before and after pic... But you'll see what I'm talking about.

CCI mini-mags work best for me. I had a lot of issues with the kit at first. It was frustrating me quite a bit- stovepiping like no tomorrow. After a few hundred rounds it smoothed out. AA kit must be kept perfectly clean to operate smoothly. At this point I've shot a few thousand rounds out of mine and the last thousand have been flawless. $7/ hundred might be alot for 22s but in the big picture still some cheap shooting.

Interesting, I have a kit on the way, and I will probably try this with one of the mags.
