I dont think its against the rules to post that Afro. Anyways, I will eventually get a pair of those sites for my 795, but for now, I'm happy with the stock sights. Plus, all of my $$ is going to feed my AR for now

I am having some issues with my 795:
      1) About one round per magazine is a no-fire. I am not sure if it's the ammo. I am using Winchester XpertHV. I also removed one turn from the hammer spring. So it could either be a hammer strike force issue, or crappy primers.
      2) The rifle will not extract no-fire rounds. Normal rounds that fire extract fine, but when a no-fire happens, it will not extract by cycling the action.
      Anyone ran into this before?

Very rarely I'll get a no fire, and I think it's due to the round, not the gun.

Why did you remove a turn from the hammer spring? What does this gain?

It helps reduce the trigger pull force from the 7lb-9lb to somewhere around 4lb.

I shot mine today, I just picked it up yesterday.
alright groups, used it all stock, iron sights. it shoots to the right. I just mounted my 4x15 scope from my bb gun haha. will see how that does next time i go out.
neat gun to shoot. I can blast away all day for cheap!

Took the new 795 out to the range today. Only shot it at 25 yds. to zero, but I was shooting ragged holes w/ Federal bulk and a Simmons Pro-Diamond 1.5-5x scope. The rifle is accurate! Plus, it digested all ammo like a starved animal. Light, reliable, simple, accurate, inexpensive....perfect hunting rifle.

Only thing that bothered me was the heavy and gritty trigger pull. Nothing a little polishing (and cutting off one coil from the hammer spring) can't improve to an acceptable level. Overall, I'm VERY impressed with my $100 Black Friday purchase.

There was a guy shooting next to me that asked what I was shooting. He was having problems with his Ruger 10/22 (it was actually a friends, and it was a pretty beat up example), so he inquired about my 795. I told him what it was and how much I paid for it. He said he was going to Big 5 immediately after the range to buy one.

                Yet another happy Marlin owner!

Im getting light primer strikes with my 795. Even after I changed the firing pin since the first one got mushed after dry firing too much (lrbho didn't work and made me dry fire. fixed this though)

just cleaned the breech face thoroughly and will test it out soon.

                    I hate my 795s.

They give me no reason to buy "high performance" upgrades, I will never be able to go to Rimfirecentral and show off my tricked out 795 with 1k worth of upgrades.

At 50 yards the accuracy is great with the cheapest ammo. Open sight I can kick mini soda cans at 40 yards with rapid fire.

Turner's latest catalog had the 795 marked at only $99.

                              why?

the 795 barrel requires you to tap a pin out from the barrel engagement area and use a vice to physically twist the barrel out. I don't think replacing the barrel will ensure the most solid engagement there. It's not thread or any thing, just really tight fit.

I have a marlin 7000 and I just got a 795. The 7000 is really accurate but I only shot the 795 with iron sights but it shoots really good too. One other thing the 7000 has a different stock that is made by butler creek so you would have to change that too if you change barrels. Mark
