Hi Chaos 47,
Happy Dad's Day in advance.
Where did you get that tidbit of information? I'd like to know. It's a great shooter and there were no problems. The Marlin is so well designed that it makes shooters look better than they really are even using the factory sights.
These then are my findings.
Location : Insight Range
Marlin 795
100 rds of 22LR CCI Stinger ( 32 grain, copper plated Hollow Point ): Clean feed, clean shooting, 0 FTF, 0 FTE.
100 rds of Blazer ( 40 grain ): Powdery, dirty, but decent groups, 0 FTF, 0 FTE.
100 rds of Walmart Bulk Winchester ( 36 grain copper plated Hollow Point ): Clean, decent groups, ( I attribute to the Marlin, not myself or the ammo. 3 FTF, 3 FTE. Yeap, it jammed 3 times boys. I just cleared the jam each time and continued to shoot. picked up the rounds that didn't chamber and shot again with no problems.
It was a perfect exhibition. I just want to clarify Chaos47's point and appreciate everyone's time.
What do you think Calgunner's? Has anyone had a problem shooting the CCI Stinger's out of the 795? Man, I love this Gun !
RBA
ps. From pg 4 of the Marlin 795 Owner's Manual: The following types of ammunition have the most consistent results in Marlin's 22 Rifles.
1. CCI Mini Mag
2. CCI Mini Mag Hollow Point
3. Federal Classic High Velocity
4. Remington High Velocity ( Not Thunderbolt )
5. Winchester Super X High Velocity
At this point, I find the situation inconclusive wherein the use of CCI Stingers is concerned. I will call Marlin Customer Service on Monday and get clarification but please share your thoughts everyone.
