For those looking for mags. Crossroads of the West gun show is coming up in a few weeks in Ontario. There is a booth there that sells mags for 19$ out the door last time I checked (about 6 months ago). I bought 3. Along with the UpLula speedloader, my range trips are a lot of fun.

Looks like I'll be joining the club. Just picked up a 795 from a fellow Calgunner yesterday. Now trying to wait out the 10 days.
Meanwhile, does anyone have any recommendations for a bipod?Comment

Re: looking for magazines, I called Marlin today. They told me they should have 795 magazines back in the distribution channel at the end of May.
I have my doubts, but will be glad to be wrong.Hatred has never won the peace. The most hatred has ever won is a lull between wars.

I'd managed to grab a couple mags off of amazon a couple weeks back, and one was sitting on a shelf by its lonesome at Big 5 last week. I'd experienced similar issues with them being a little tight, but a good thorough cleaning of the contact points seems to clear that up.
Without taking it apart, I cleaned up the feed ramp with a #2 pencil eraser and I've had zero issues to feed with Federal/Winchester/Remington bulk, but a few failures to eject with Federal.Comment

I bought two 795s at the end of last year, taking delivery in January. Got a great price at Turners. I finally got the chance to shoot them last month, after a good cleaning and polishing the feed ramp and mag well with rubbing compound, I took them out to the desert in a trip. These things are a HOOT! I love them! Super fun and more accurate than I am. I did outfit them both with GI slings and swivels. But other than that did nothing to alter their configuration (stock sights). I was shooting an M1A, a 1911, an AR, and a 10/22, and the most fun I had was with the Marlins. Great purchase, I am super pleased.Do not give in to evil, but proceed ever more boldly against it.Comment

Anyone try this with an AR-15? Read some of the Amazon reviews of some who thought it wasn't stable enough for anything more than a 22LR, then again some others really liked it a lot on their AR and AK systems. It could be all subjective as I like the price!Last edited by pdude; 04-30-2012, 10:08 PM.Comment

I ended up ordering this:
There were more reviews for the OP-1 online and they seemed positive, and +$5 for the warehouse deal wasn't a wallet breaker for me.
Looks like it'd be good with your AR15 if you don't use standard 30rd length mags. The reviews say the most you can do, height-wise, is a 20rd mag. As far as stability goes though, from the pics it looks like people are shooting .308 and 7.62 with it, so your AR15 should be fine.
Also, 2/10 days completed.Comment
