I just bought 4 more packs of the 525 count Federal bulk from Bass Pro. Got 4 to get the free shipping (>$75), since they were $23.99 per pack.

Same. I called in as well and apparently, the Federal and Blazer (you know, the best deals) were only available for in store purchase and having them for online sale was a mistake.______________________________Comment

22lr at WalMart
so happen to stop in to my local Walmart in Folsom last night at 1800...needed to stock up on monster drink..swung by the sporting goods and asked if they had 22 ammo...noticed they don't even have a place for it in their locked cabinet..but the guy walks over to his cashier station, slides open the lower cabinet and pulls out a 1000 round brick of Winchester M-22! I was shocked..but not shocked enough not to ask if they had anymore..(I saw at least one other brick in the case)..he told me I could only have one..so I pointed to the sign they had posted stating I could have three boxes..and I also told him I saw more in his cabinet...I cant believe it but he actually told me he was holding the last brick for a friend!!
I told him about the last guy doing that at same store got fired, and AGAIN REQUESTED ADDITIONAL AMMO..
He got pissed and pulled out last box and said "I have to keep customer happy"
I have heard of employees holding ammo for friends but this is my first time I actually experienced it..Cant believe he told me what he was doing!!
Part of me wanted to turn his *** in, the other part was grateful he even told me he had ammo..I walked out with two bricks~Last edited by mike kays; 09-21-2016, 9:19 AM.Comment

I have no problem with people stockpiling ammo, if that's considered hoarding. You do realize that a a few years you won't be able to buy ammo right? In a little over a year, it won't be legal to buy online (only face to face sales), and once that happens the local supplies will practically be non-existent. If the ammo background check passes, even if you are lucky enough to find ammo, you won't be able to just go to the store, pay, and walk out with ammo.
I just make buying ammo, powder, primers, and bullets a regularly occurring purchase, before, during, and after these shortages, because I still want to be able to shoot once the ammo supplies dry up.
I just hope everyone got out and signed the recall petitions.Comment

How so? I'm pretty sure the resellers don't hold onto their ammo for long, hence the term "reseller". Generally, the point of reselling is to move inventory as fast as possible, not to build up some secret stash somewhere. If they buy for .08/round, I'm sure they're reselling quickly for .09 or .10/round.______________________________Comment

He was talking about the guys who sit there early in the morning and buy it all up then post it for sale on Calguns in the private ammo for sale section at inflated prices.
If you go there it is mostly regulars and they are doing it as a business not a private ammo sale.Lynn Dragoman, Jr.
