.22 lr ammo availability improving?

Prices should have improved for us over the year.... Anyone got any leads???I love Gander's free shipping specials. And thanks to a tip I got here on Calguns, I got enough CCI for a few trips to the range! $7.99 per 100 ct. sleeve, free shipping, no tax. The ammo situation is finally improving.

Gander has a 5 box limit, but the system sometimes allows you to make a couple orders without cancelling or backordering. YMMV. Usually isn't cost effective to do so, but when there's a shipping deal going on it's a different story.Comment

I bought the 525 Remington brick for $29 at Scheels last Friday here in Salt Lake. When Cabell as has it I order it and pick up it in our store. I do pay the Utah sales tax. I never see it in the Super Walmarts .Comment

I'm sitting flush with 22 LR and 22 short. I can only see things getting worse with the election coming up. I'd like to get another 2-3K of 5.56.
I try to order 75.00-100.00 worth of ammo ever couple of weeks, just odd ball pistol rds stuff. I know it would be cheaper to order more and save on shipping, I'm kind of silly that way.
I don't worry about 12ga, except the fed tactical buck shot stuff, I'm sitting good on that too. I've yet to see Walmart OOS on 12ga bird and buck shot, plus they always have clay bird.
Didn't we see 3250rd of fed last week for 250.00 shipped (it was something like that) That was a good easy way of stocking up on 22lr
Keep an eye on this site, they always have some 22lr and once in awhile you'll find some 22 short.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Time to make a brash statement. The 22 shortage has been over since the end of 2014. It has been an issue of price. Around that time I helped a gun club purchase 100K of CCI SV from Palmetto. Yeah it was .095 per round shipped but they got it on a pallet in early Jan 2015! Today just for fun I went to the Palmetto site and added 1,000 boxes of Fed Auto Match. It let me have it - 325,000 rounds. So truly, no shortage. It has been and will continue to be seeing if the prices will normalize. My feeling is that we will see pricing bottom out 25-35% above what we experienced in Nov 2012. Ah well.Comment

Prices will remain high as long as people feel that their gun rights are threatened and more people buy guns trying to avoid new laws that may make it harder to purchase one.
The consensus is the prices and shortages are caused by this exactly. http://www.forbes.com/sites/frankmin.../#464dc9211c13Comment

I can't buy any 22 ammo locally so I don't believe your brash statement is correct.Time to make a brash statement. The 22 shortage has been over since the end of 2014. It has been an issue of price. If your willing to pay through the nose you can always find a seller but that doesn't mean it's widely available.Lynn Dragoman, Jr.

Turners, bass pro, and big 5 have been stocked with .22 lately. Always pick up a couple boxes when I'm around any of those stores. Still can't find cci mini mags anywhere though. 😭

Natchez has some right now. Shipping kills the "deal" but order enough and you can get them for around .10/rd.Comment
