--- yes--- the matches I shoot, have wind- lots of it, and occasional movers... I know how to hit them with a mil reticle. Do you? with any reticle?

Considering Fixed Power vs Variable 1-6 Scope
[QUOTE=postal;15769177]Now I'm really curious.....
Why did you settle on 8.6 mover?
My charts- based on *MY* preference is 5mph wind, and 5 mph mover.
At 5, it's easy to cut in half for 2.5 mph- add to that for a 7.5, or double for 10. etc....
Easily set windage correction from 2.5-15 mph, and mover speeds from walking, jogging, running, sprinting... all based on simple 5 mph chart.
This is what I use and what I know based on my own experience. So why did you pick 8.6 for a mover? A fast walk/slow jog?[/]
8.6
Its how fast people sprint across streets holding a weapon. The outer edge of the horse shoe is for walking 3.1 everything else in the middle you hold forThey are set for 0-300

Idk about that but Acog vs the mil system is as bizarre as it gets. It's like saying my fork is way better then your spoon. Very often people don't understand what they are looking at and put it down. Weird thing is all arguing can't just google and find out Acogs have been in military use for decades and what that has to do with the mil system is beyond me.

Put a "spork" in ya... You're done....
"close is for horseshoes and hand grenades......"
Your reticle has a horseshoe.... and "close" doesnt cut it. But you can scare the heck outta that masked RPG carrying bad guy playing horseshoes....Last edited by postal; 02-06-2015, 8:50 PM.Comment

Dimitri, I'd not have guessed you also shoot precision. Out of curiosity, what do you run for your precision rig (cartridge and scope)?
As you know, there are many different reticle patterns these days. Some people like things such as a Horus reticle, while others prefer something much more simple. Either style is fine and there is quite a bit of preference involved. Personally, I like it simple with the most possible occular clarity, so I can watch my impacts. Even just a standard crosshair with hashmarks does the trick for me so long as the reticle is not too thick to obscure the target for very small or very far targets with magnification.Comment

The ACSS HUD is the spork!
It will show up this year in Japanese optics 6-30x FFP 35mm MSRP $2200

Currently a rem700 300wm with a 6-30ffp 35mm with my Advanced Mil reticle that will be out later this year. I load all kinds of stuff but mainly 208Amax. I shoot a custom .223 a lot do to lack or recoil and because .223 is more susceptible to drift it makes it more interesting reading wind. Why do you ask? Your the guy that said he out shot Huges right? Are going to try and throw me under the bus more? You should come shoot with us.

Sound more like a "knork" or a "Fnife" A combination of a fork and a knife....The ACSS HUD is the spork!

Only... you have a knife at one end, and a fork at the other....
While at first it sounds great, you have a knife and a fork.... but a common handle with each tool at either end......
So... you have a piece of meat you want to cut.... and you cant use the fork to hold the meat while cutting it with the knife......
Sounds about as useful putting that reticle into a fullsize optic......
I was going to give you some space when you stated it was for low power ONLY support rifles...... now you think it would be useful in a full power full size optic? about as useful as a "knork"......
(knork patent pending- thought of that several years ago... just to make life more complicated for people that like complications....)Comment

Yeah ok.. Like you have shot it before. Your welcome to come do so. I would love to take you and JMP and have you guys engage multiple targets at an unknown distance with timer. Talking about it on calguns and putting rounds down range is not the same.
Here I hit 9-10 hits at 600 yards with it. You can check the time of flight on it. Factory ammo off a bag using BDC. This is near 1000 palms CA Bring a .308 and lets time it.

No, I have never claimed to out-shoot anyone. I don't know why you think I am "throwing you under the bus". I am sorry if you felt that way. I am simply not a fan of PA optics based on the current quality relative to other makers.Currently a rem700 300wm with a 6-30ffp 35mm with my Advanced Mil reticle that will be out later this year. I think that sounds interesting that PA is taking a big step up. I'll be very interested in taking a look at these new lines with improved quality. What size objective will the 6-30x use?
Getting these reticles in a TA31 and better glass for the high magnification variable power will certainly be a major step forward to get these reticles in use.Comment

Dimitri, I'd love to go shooting with you and postal. You make this sound like some sort of grudge match, but you know what? It might actually be a day of fun and camaraderie.Yeah ok.. I'm the guy that beat Ssgt Hughes in Dec 2013- the last annual socal precision rifle competition. No match in 2014- He's beaten me twice before at that match...Currently a rem700 300wm with a 6-30ffp 35mm with my Advanced Mil reticle that will be out later this year.
