I like the reticle but question the usefulness of the rangefinder. It's based on 5'10" person, however there are never any persons downrange when I shoot. Same for the wind markings.

Considering Fixed Power vs Variable 1-6 Scope

Have you seen the P4L? I like this reticle since it has a very fine crosshair, and it gives additional measurement features that do not obstruct your view. This is much more thought out for longer distance and shorter distance shooting, in my opinion. It seems that the more experienced shooters prefer this more simplified system. To make it more universal, they've provided measurements in both imperial and SI.

That reticle making that noise is designed to solve field problems and it does it better then anything out at any price range. FYI the ACSS is going in a TA31 It's not designed for novice shooters. It's a premiled battle reticle that is proving far more effective then anything out when it comes to engaging multiple targets at unknown distances.

Does owning an Acog make you an operator?
Its a premilled system designed to do the same thing. Glad you like the red dots.

I don't think it makes you an operator, it just means you will have a lot easier time identifying your target without reticle bukkake.

I'll never understand why the PA rep thinks its cool to poke fun of, or make snide remarks of his potential customer base.

Its funny because I was actually considering the 1-6 as an option until I read the quote above.

Considering there is not a military or law enforcement organization on the planet that would consider PA as their "go to" optic, I have to wonder who it is actually for...

There is no rangefinder with that optic. You can equip a rifle with a range finder--won't be cheap though.

@Dimitri, you guys make a good product and it's a great value, but when you are representing PA to potential customers you should check your ego at the door. Maybe you're right, maybe not, but it doesn't look good on you to lose the professionalism. Earn their business with facts and service. Passion is good if it's positive. FWIW

Its not passion and not arguing, a pre milled system is proven to be more effective and why our military and others use it.

This is what our soldiers see looking through most Acogs
