I know....it's killing me. I'm de-cosmoing a few other things, so I'll take care of everything all at once....

I am thinking of ordering a couple SA SG tomorrow. Am I too late already? I ordered before and it takes 3 months to fulfill the order. I am hoping I can make it.

Has new CMP stock. Hardly any Cosmo, 1941 with 1952 barrel, IHC trigger group.
So, the SA Service grades are coming with CMP stocks?

              Not a fan...

Hope the sticky I shamefully added for GI wood makes the cut.

I am going to be beyond delighted if my SG looks like that. I ordered while the HRA's were showing in stock. After I sent in the paperwork, the website changed to reflect Springfields in stock and HRA's out. The lady from CMP sent me a nice email saying my packet was good to go and was processing. I replied back and told her I am happy with either one, so she made a note of that on my order.

(Putting on flame suit) I would prefer to receive the crisp new CMP stock than a GI stock.

I just did the exact same thing, Bobby. Charged me last Friday, should ship soon. Forgot to do my usual begging for a good shooter, though. CMP has been very good to me, though, and I donate.

I wouldn't mind a CMP stock on a mixmaster like a 1941 Rec w/ 52 barrel. But I'm glad my first SA SG, which came era-matching (except trigger group), original barrel with an un-cut op rod came with matching USGI wood. The nice thing about CMP wood is that you don't have to wring your hands over affecting the collectability by cleaning up the stock.

You are literally down to the wire. It seems like the CMP is expediting CA orders, though, due to our pending plight. I think if you mailed it overnight delivery TODAY, you could get your order in and see the M1 with no jail time. I'm at 3 weeks from receiving and it should ship this week or next.

Sent in my CMP order! --**The official CalGuns CMP order updates thread!**--

                    Just shy of a month....

Top is the 3.6 SA. 3/45 SA barrel, lock bar rear sight, W bolt, SA trigger group. Muzzle 2+ throat 3+. No markings at all on the stock, along with what looks to be the cleaning rods in the stock.

Bottom 284XXX SA, 11-51 SA barrel, SA bolt, P in circle in front of grip and eagle and stars in box on left side. SA trigger group. Muzzle 2+ and throat 4.

Overall, very happy with these two...

I asked for a good shooter, maybe that is why they sent with CMP wood. The lockup it nice and tight, can't wait to see how it does on the range.

My previous order of 2 HRA SG, I asked for USGI wood and that's what I got, one HRA and the other SA.

That makes no sense, finishing a CMP stock makes the gun no less collectible than refinishing a USGI stock, you just have the option to preserve it. While the CMP walnut stocks are nice, I would prefer a USGI stock over CMPs other offerings anytime. At least then you will probably get walnut with USGI.

1941 ya say...? Low Six-digit serial number?

I noticed the lead-dipped heal... sweet.

W/ those bore numbers, it must have been put right into storage after rebuild. Any Armory markings?

And CMP walnut is a step up from CMP birch, which I have had the privilege of receiving a couple of.

                          Should be a good shooter.

                          Congrats.

Yes, 268XXX serial. Didn't notice the lead dipped heel until you mentioned it. I just glanced over it last night so I haven't gone into too much detail. I will check to see for armory markings.

That light grey park make me think LEAD or RRAD Arsenal rebuild.

                              Look on the receiver legs.

Also, check to see if the chamber is in the white. They seem to have added the Bbls after the receivers were parked.
