It was an ATF agent. She inspected my log book and wanted to see the items that I had logged in there. She didn't even care about anything else that I had beside what I logged in my book and didn't want or ask to look. I had logged a couple things incorrectly and she showed me how to fix them and gave me a bunch of literature on procedures and laws. It was more of a informational and making sure I knew how to keep track of everything than a "let me find something to get you in trouble" meeting.

Not sure if they are all so nice but that was my experience.

Letting the license lapse is a simple way to avoid registration and eventually, confiscation.
Not as thick as i would like but I bought sold and traded a few guns in the 11 years.
      Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I guess I am in the small minority who would rather just renew and keep my C&R license active.

Where do you apply for your CR FFL?

Remember in jan14 you'll need a coe as well to achieve the same level in the prk.

Due to AB809 you will have to have a california COE to buy from out of state and I think in state gun owners of Curio n Relic guns. The cash n carry practice at the gun shows goes away. Search on AB809 and read about it.

The COE is not hard to get but must be renewed every year as opposed to the C&R license being valid for three years. There are a number of threads that explain this better than I can.

No problem we all have to learn.....best way is on cgn is to use search feature and read alot.

You did it pretty well Frank.

And, you are correct. If in state buying a C&R long gun; the 50 year old rule goes away, from a non-dealer a 03 C&R FFL must have a COE to be able to buy it with out going to a dealer for a PPT.

The 50 year old also goes away for long guns being shipped into CA.
