Made in Jan of 1928, with 53,480 made that year.

A friend of mine has an old Winchester that he inherited some years ago and recently asked me if I knew anything about it. My rifle knowledge is small, but I determined it is a model 07 serial number 491xx. Any information I can pass along to him would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Made in 1939, with 303 made that year.
Made from 1906 to 1957, production numbers were all over the board. In 1921, 1925, and 1931, only one rifle was produced for each of those years. from 1942 to 1957, none were made, then in 1957 they made the last 8,633.

I have a model 1894 with a serial number of #125454 can you help me with a date also need to replace the butt plate it looks like a shoot gun style with the spade at the top cut into the stock.

Made in 1901 with 33,126 made that year.
Do you have a pic of the buttplate? There were about 5 or 6 different variations, get me a pic and I can find you one.

I've got a model 92 in .44 WCF with a 24" octagon barrel, sn 26390. Winchester's website says it was made in 1893. Seems to me if the reciever was serialized in 1893 and no one can show it was not made then, it follows that is was made then. I dont' think the word, "alleged" exists in collecting.

Regardless, it is a neat, tight rifle and I am going to shoot the daylights out of it. A personality flaw since birth.
