Which AR bullet button to buy

The nice thing i find about the b16 is that there is no confusion as far as a possible AW. Yes it is ugly in comparison but very functional.

i prefer the basic no frills bullet button. i have nightmares about errant LEO's testifying that my radlock was in the wrong position.

I am sorry, but I have to say your scenario of a LEO, who is out to get you, is going to mess with you because you had a Raddlock on is just plain FUD. You might as well get rid of any firearms you own. Otherwise you should have nightmares everyday you own any type of firearms.

Why don't you also mention that same LEO can also stick a 11rd magazine that look like your 10rd magazine in any of other magazine locked device guns.

Why don't that same LEO (wearing gloves) take your gun and shoot your only witness next to you and say you did it.

Wake up people! Be on top of what you are doing.

The Raddlock CA compliant devices are not anymore legal or illegal than any other devices out there.

I have to agree with Radd on this one. I've had a few run ins with LEO's concerning my weapons and ALL of them had been polite and courtest.

In fact, after making sure my guns were compliant, a few even asked to fire my weapons. I'm talking about Burro Canyon, BTW.

Vamfire MLD. Allen wrench (.50) adjusts the shroud around the mag release button. Very simple and no need to remove/reinstall anything.

I prefer the original bullet buttons. It only takes about 2 mins. to swap back to the original mag release if you go out of state. Like stated earlier they are only about half the cost of the two position ones.

Plus it has the largest hole diameter, all the others have a smaller diameter so I can't use the same diameter tool on both.

BTW: My problem with the above instruction video is the demonstrator failed to show or mention you can only use 10rd magazine with any magazine lock device including the AR Raddlock in California. I understand on youtube site he did put a notation that the demonstration video was shot out of state. And...... "RADDLOCK" is spelled with double "DD"

Elsewhere, not so much. Just ten seconds with a hex key and we are back in business. Plus I'm rather fond of the ridged texture on the Prince50.

I don't exactly "work there" Ok, I actually work my arse off at that place but it's a labor of love. The P50 is a good choice is you are willing to top load inside CA and you do a lot of shooting out of CA, I agree. The problem is, and I am putting on my California AR retailer hat here, that a lot of people, especially new shooters, are unaware of the dangers of the P50. The problem is confusion about what it means to "use a tool to remove the magazine". A lot of noobs think that loosening the set screw on the P50 to drop the mag is the same thing as "using a tool to remove the magazine" and they think that is legal. What they don't understand is that they had just created an Assault Weapon configuration so that is why we usually warn people away from the P50 unless they totally understand the legalities of using it. We like to help keep our customers out of trouble whenever possible.

Am I missing something? Did the design of the Raddlock change at some point to actually allow a bullet tip space to fit in far enough to drop a mag? Someone above mentioned "Gen X" Raddlock??? Back 1.5 years ago, when I bought the Raddlock/dummy bullet release tool combo from Riflegear, I had a guy on the phone from there trying to drop a mag on one he had in the shop by using a bullet tip, and he could not get it to work either at that time. That's when I removed he Raddlock from that rifle and said "never again".... this tiny hole is just to limiting.

Not exactly what your question is, but I use a m855 bullet on my Raddlock to release a mag.

Yeah, they have been through a couple design changes and the hole is larger now. It's not as big as the hole on a Bullet Button but it is large enough to allow a .223 tip to drop the mag.

Yes, there was a change to the raddlock. I bought mine in June 2010 and they say Genx. Both the .223/5.56 bullet tip and UBBT work for dropping mags. Check out the UBBT, it rocks.

OK, I just talked to Peter from Raddlock. I purchased mine years ago, one of the first 100 pieces. That "Gen1" model DID have a smaller hole, which explains my frustration back then. Now, I played with my brother's Raddlock equiped rifle today, and he clearly has the "GenX" model with the larger hole... and a bullet tip dropped the mag perfectly. OK, now that is cleared up. So, in my book, Raddlock, Bullet Button Convertible, and the Vamfire MLD are ALL viable options.
