I like the Assault Planet Bullet Button, simple and no confusion. I had Radlocks before, I didn't like how they felt when loosened or how the screw slot got chewed up by some of the improvised BB tools I'd use. Besides as others have stated, it really doesn't take long to just swap out a BB for the standard mag release if necessary.

I have the same fears. I don't see the need for a convertible bb when it is so quick and edu to switch back to the normal mag release. Then you have a bb that is always active 100% of the time, so no leo mix up there.

I have a Vamfire but I've only used it once, just got an AR the other day.

I'm not really sure how I feel about it. I'm pretty sure I'll get a different BB in the near future. I'm not sure of the name but it is the one where you can attach an extension to use as a regular magazine release when in a free state.

I prefer the original bullet button, because as said there is only one position and you can substitute the factory parts for out of state. I made a special tool to install/disassemble that part of the rifle just in case someone ever questioned it. The tool also allows me to adjust the nut tightly enough that the mag will not release at all should I want to top load only.

But while in CA, you prefer top-loading? No thanks. I can put a normal mag release back into my lower in about 30 seconds if I need to, but screwing around with a P50 is not for most people.

i'm in the market for a BB also. I called Riflegear and the recommended the Assault Planet BB. Is that the same as the original BB? Is it me or does spending over $30 for a BB seem like one is just burning money? Please shed some insight as i am still learning about the AR platform.

I have the Radlock and it works great. Not sure what the big deal is about the size release hole. The tip of a .223 or 5.56 fits just fine to release the mag. No need to spend more $$ on a mag release tool.

oh i know theyre different. The MLD looks good, ive just never messed with one. I was just saying after getting the raddlock I have no interest in spending money to try anything else
