My first thought was; Is Ruger in competition with Hi-Point to see who can make the ugliest and heaviest 9mm PCC? But now its grown on me a bit, and I think I want to buy one.

What I really want is a similar style/sized gas operated 10mm that uses Glock mags. 10mm would make a nice powerful back country rifle.

since it has the quick detachable / take down barrel , this makes a nice survival carbine that you could stow in a pack , very compact

No, it's clear. You prefer 40 - nothing wrong with that - and are dismissive of 9mm when it comes to HD.

When it comes to pistols I can understand the desire for larger calibers, especially when there are mag limits.

When it comes to carbines, I don't see the delta between the 9mm and 40 to be that compelling, since if terminal effectiveness is really the issue just use a rifle cartridge.

And with that, we've come full circle.

Nothing wrong with 9mm, but the whole point of a pistol caliber carbine IS to match what your carring in a pistol.
Thus some of us want a .40 or a 10MM.

I'm sure a PC4 would be fun but this new one takes Glock mags and I only have one old eleven round Ruger mag for .40 S&W... not even sure why or where I got it... maybe at a gun show by mistake. NIW Ruger P94 Mag IIRC.

So is it too early to ask what compensator to put on this? I know it won’t generate very much gas, but is there a small profile 9mm carbine compensator out there that will help facilitate rapid follow-up shots and will help the timer pick up the report on the final shot?
