Ruger 9mm takedown that can accept Glock mags

Yeah, I don't think I care either... if I'm not installing a brake I'd rather have a regular crown and no thread protector.
Finding a decent brake that has the same diameter as the barrel would be nice, but expensive.
FYI, Rifle Gear will exclude mags, KYGCO will exclude, Brownells will not...
Brownells is a great pre-order price with a 10% free shipping off code... even with a $10 FFL fee it is about $482!Comment

Man I REALLY hope someone 3D's a CZ magwell otherwise going to have to buy some Glock mags. Then again... if the threaded version is in-stock... I might get it hahahah.
YEP, three mag inserts already listed:

If anyone orders from KYGCO just note in the "notes" section reminding them to "remove and retain 17 round mag for CA Compliance". Same for Rifle Gear when they get stock. Sounds like Sportsman's does it too. Brownells will not add or remove anything.Comment

I called kygunco. These are in stock and sipping. If you are LEO they require ID to ship the Mags.Comment

Sippin the Kentucky Sizzurp?
They haven't shipped mine yet! Hurry up, dammit, heheh. I verified they are shipping this morning via Facebook PM...
All info about RG, Brownells, KYGCO, etc... I got from the sources today.Comment

I really really hope they designed it with enough foresight so that it can be converted to .40 and take Glock .40 mags. So they could sell .40 conversion kits (barrel, bolt, magwell)CRPA and NRA member.

.40 is becoming less and less popular by the day. I dont think they had .40 in mind at all.Comment

.40 is all but dead. If you like it, there are tons of cheap cop trade-ins, and even cheap new ones around because nobody else wants it. Same for the ammo.Comment

Well that may be, but for HD If I had to choose between a 9mm or .40, I'd go .40 everytime. Its just a little bit bigger and more powerful, and in a carbine, recoil is basically irrelevant. The main reason why 9mm has comeback is because .40 is a lot snappier in a handgun and now there are better bullet designs in 9mm to get more comparable ballistics to .40. Along with the recent trend towards subcompact pistols for CCW. 9mm is more comfortable for a lot of people than .40 in a small CCW pistol. But if its a carbine, why bother with 9mm, other than for plinking? Just get the most powerful .40 cartridge and dont think twice.
Good point. Just a barrel and bolt would be needed. I really hope they are planning this. .40 is long from dead. I really like .40 in a fullsize handgun, compact not so much. Would love a takedown carbine I could shoot 9mm out of and then swap barrels+bolt to change to .40 for HD.Last edited by Tere_Hanges; 01-11-2018, 4:58 PM.CRPA and NRA member.
