One gun that can shoot two or more calibers with only changing a couple of components. Oh the HORROR!!! Haha, Im so butthurt BTW.
Since this is a takedown model, the whole barrel comes of. I imagine that it would not be too challenging for them if they wanted to. For instance if the connecting part of the barrel were large enough, they could use it as a universal connection. Then you would just need to change the bolt face and extractor (I'm guessing).

.40 is stll very popular with competitive shooters due to the rules of the various sports.

Exactly. Thats why I brought up the idea in the first place. Hoping they had enough foresight to design the receiver so this could be done in the future. Apparently, thinking about these things really upsets the calguns thought police and amounts to starting a caliber war. Which is not at all what my intention was.

I just called Turners and they will stock both threaded barrel (19100) and non threaded (19101). The caveat is 19100 pice is $569 and 19101 is $529. The difference in price does not make sense but it is an option.

Pretty sweet price point. Hope we see these at those prices up here in Norcal.

How dare you sir! I bought a SW500 purely for the logical
                      practical reason of T-Rex attacks.

I'm thinking of getting my wife up to speed with this rifle.
I've taught her basic pistol shooting enough to keep
her safe and able to access the weapon quickly and use it.
But I suspect this rifle may have some advantages over
the pistol. Very little recoil to manage, small size and with a red dot
it may be preferable to her for HD.

Mine was $509.99 shipped from KYGCO threaded version...

Brownells you can get the non-threaded version for $482 IIRC if you use a 10% off free ship code LA9. That one is a pre-order though... but Graba Gun got more stock this morning... so Ruger is pumping them out IMHO.

Same here, my wife is 90lbs, bird bones. Very recoil sensitive and can barely rack the slide on a pistol. She loves ARs so this little carbine would be good for her.

+2 on the wife and HD rifle. Right now I use CZ scorpion rifle, but the fin grip may be the difference between “good” Ruger and “bad” CZ. Will see what the wife says. But before that the rifle must prove herself as a reliable weapon. My scorpion eats any type of ammo, hollow points included.
The Ruger will have another plus- metal magazines, I can keep them loaded without worrying about cracked feed lips /known problem with some of the CZ magazines/. I just want to find a magazine coupler for this Ruger rifle. Any ideas?

Last I heard the Secret Service still used 357 Sig, ostensibly for it's enhanced penetration. Maybe that's changed.

Yeah, if they build it I will make it happen.

I'm not going to hold my breath because Ruger doesn't AFAIK make a 10mm handgun, but yeah, 10mm in a carbine? Yes pls.
