Now, if I were a real baller like our friend in Tehachapi, Dave, and owned a 1911 chambered in 10mm, then... yes. I'd want a lever so chambered.

Meanwhile, I have no loading bench until my camp trailer's complete. Life gets in the way, like, I just bought a very minute piece of Utah and now find myself travelling to and fro.
I’ve seen several for sale out of the UK, at crazy low prices since it’s hard for people there to get licensed. Even with import fees it wouldn’t be a bad deal to pick one up the next time one becomes available if someone was interested. Every gun I’ve bought from the UK I’ve ended up making a profit on when I decided to let it go.

Other than the CZ, everything reminded me that I need to spend more time shooting and less time reloading. I need to haul my steel targets out to the desert before it gets too hot. Other than next Sunday and Monday, the forecast is for the 70s to low 80s. I just need someone else to go, as it is much more fun (and safe) to have company.
I too, shot my CZ Compact last week. 250 rounds. Federal HST 147 gr SJHP, Fiocchi 124 gr ball, Magtech 115 gr ball, and Federal American Eagle 115 gr ball. The CZ rides in a Privateer Leather, Cutthroat Holster, from Wes. I try to go shooting every Monday. Next week I'll be shooting my HI Power.

Ordered a bunch of 454 Casull lead free ammo from Targetsportsusa last week. Price is pretty dang good so I guess I'll be hunting with my stainless R92 this fall. I put a red dot on it and it's wayyyy fun to shoot. Just didn't have much ammo and haven't made time to load any yet. Been way too busy of a year. :/

I saw that he posted this on the other site (probably due to issues here).

On July 19, the Compton Hunting and Fishing Club will hold it 78th Annual Fish Fry, located on our private 3 acre grounds bordered by the 710 freeway, large Edison fields and the LA River on a private street....
n 78 years, we have never had an issue, serving over 1000 meals each year.

Handbattered fish, French fries, homemade cole slaw and Tartar sauce and ice cream. A bake sale. Kids' games and a bounce house. Live Country music.

                    Nice! Have fun!

Was in the local shop the other day buying a new shotgun and on the bulletin board was an ad for a Savage 99 in 30-30 for 500 bucks. Photos make it look pretty rough with almost no original finish left, but I'm still tempted to grab it as a shooter. Maybe a refinish project and hunt with it. Thoughts on value? ...although I just looked at the photo I took of the ad on the wall and it looks like there's a notch cut into the buttstock just in front of the pad, on the top. Weird. That is probably a deal killer for me unless I was to get it for even cheaper.

                        re: model 99 for sale

for me, the mechanical condition would make or break the deal

while I do enjoy nice stocks, I can enjoy a good deal if flaws are only cosmetic

maybe this helps, first hit on super quick search, $100 at Brownell's

Check out WOOD PLUS SAVAGE ARMS 99 STOCK FIXED OEM available Online at Brownells Today and many more Rifle Stocks & Parts products are available in our Gun Parts Department.

                        good luck!

I talked myself out of it. I've got enough guns i already don't shoot, more projects lined up tha. I can do in the next 5 years, and I've got house projects and hot rods.to build. Adult responsibilities suck.

I'm even going to sell some stuff to fund my Barracuda build since the Challenger is done! Anyone want a Ruger 44 carbine, SMLE MkV trials rifle, mas36, handful of Mosins, and I don't know what else I'll dig out and put up.
