I just got a Daisy Red Ryder, the *adult* size, and it's as big as my 20" Marlin 1894 FG... both make my 16" Rossi 92 look like a Youth version.

If you're thinking about getting a Daisy BB rifle for Xmas, consider the Youth size, too. And it's less expensive!

Finally got my Big Boy Steel out of jail!

Anyone know if they sell metal butt plates to replace the rubber?

Doesn't look like it on their on-line store. You could call Henry and ask 'em:[201] 858-4400.

You'll probably going to have to buy a new set of furniture. I'm not sure if any will work with your gun but the $250.00 stock up grade looks pretty nice.

Genuine American Walnut fancy stock sets to upgrade your already handsome lever action rifle! These sets are only available for: H001, H001T, H004, H006, H009B, H010B Series Serial # above TTB047202 Images are stock images that will reflect the grade, but not the exact set of wood you will receive. As wood is a natural product, some variations in grain and pattern should be expected. Special Notes: All H004 and H006 sets have brass buttplates and therefore will not match any silver models These sets will NOT fit X Series models Special Notes about Shipping and Returns: Prepaid return labels are sent via email with all of our fancy stock sets in case something goes awry in shipping, or in case an exchange must be made. Your set will still be processed and shipped as per usual. Only unused, unblemished sets will be accepted for return/credit within 30 days. This pertains to fancy stock that was purchased online only.  We do not credit or exchange factory stock.

Thanks for posting the upgraded walnut stock link. Has anyone bought one of these upgraded stocks? How did it go?

I had a Henry All Weather in .357, loved it. The only thing is the front loading tube. If you don't mind that, I'd say get a Henry.

Chris, as a follow-up on your MLC home road work; it looks the construction is for a new, extended "Tortoise fence". Not very high, maybe 18", but, low to the ground.

This is the wife's Golden Boy. I've often thought that they used the upgraded wood on this one by mistake. Its just a regular off the shelf Henry, we paid $500 for back in the spring. I have seen tons of Henrys, even several of their very high end special guns and have never seen anything with wood like this one:

The pics don't even begin to do justice to this chunk of wood. Every time the wife uses it to off some ground squirrels, she tells me how much she loves it. She's even named it Henrietta. Ya can read her lips: "I love this gun."

If they make that stock set for your model I'd sure do it for $250. Here's a $2500 Original Henry in .44-40. Not even beginning to be close:

A couple of real fine looking rifles there. Yep, she's looking pretty happy. Very cool!

That Henry Golden Boy ^above^ is a beaut. I wish mine had such nice walnut.

So, how is the .357 Henry steel? Got my eye on that one.

I had a rossi 92 in 44mag, it shot s foot high at 50 yards with the sight all the way down.
It was pretty cheaply made overall, but worked fine other than the ridiculous sighting issues.

I also have an old 50’s marlin in 35mag, it is a far better constructed lever rifle.

The Henry’s have a very good reputation and the brass receiver is besutiful.

Uberti may be something to look at as well, not sure what they offer but some of those case hardened receivers are beautiful. Haven’t owned one so can't offer any more than that.
