I just run a Boyt 1 1/4" leather sling on my Big Boy Steel. I think they're blowing them our under $20 right now.

I run the Montana sling on some of my coach shotguns. If I ever run a sling on my Rossi 92, I would use one of them

Will you be using your BB steel to hunt with? If so, one of those Butler Creek "Comfort Stretch" slings always worked for me. Just another option.

Sounds like the pants I wear now that I'm old.
Lever-tactical "comfort stretch" pants. Hahaha!.

Heehaw!
I think 5.11 has already cornered that market...
But, seriously...
I have three of Andy's Rhodesian slings; two for scout rifles and one for a short 870. The sling swivel positions on three of my Marlins are similarly-placed so that I don't have to readjust the sling to loop up.
Browse a huge inventory of Gear including Tactical Gear, Gun Cases & Storage, Range Gear, & Slings & Sling Swivels with 1,658 products In Stock with 4.5 rating on 3,926 reviews from verified buyers.
Check the little video clip in the Brownell's listing. Nice to see Andy's Leather carried by more distributors. I purchased mine a few years back directly from Andy Langlois. It's been awhile, but I should check back in to his Scout Rifle forum.

My dad bought my my Rossi 357 16 inch blued 92 in 357 back in 1992. Can't forget the date!
I have cycled more round through that thing than anyone would ever believe...
When the San Francisco PD went from revolvers to semi auto handguns I was at the PD teaching a class. It was the last day for them to get rid of the remaining stock of 38 ammo they had in stores according to some admin letter. Back then, they were literally just sending it home with employees who wanted it. They asked if we wanted any and I, of course, said sure! They asked me to pull the truck around back and I assumed they were trying to give me a box or two on the down low. Instead I was greeted on the loading dock by a guy with a hand dolly stacked high. He told me that he was ordered to give me as much as I wanted because the rest would be destroyed or given away.
So... I loaded up the back of our 1979 K5 blazer... until the springs started to sag... I think it was around 30 cases of ammo... They weren't packed in trays but instead just dumped into double thick boxes. Back then a box of 38 lead 3D brand reloads would go for about $3'ish at Rite Aid.
A good deal of it was reloads, but who cared! I had so much that I never collected brass to reload. Why bother right lol. Alas, I depleted all that fun in 2008 or so. It has cycled a variety of other rounds through it in that time frame as well for general hunting, plinking and varmint eradication around the ranch.
I cycled almost all of them through that Rossi or my 4in Security six. I've had exactly two failures in that Rossi and that was one broken firing pin in the Rossi back in 2010 and one broken stuck case (Winchester white box FMJ 38 spl) that broke off at EXACTLY 9mm case height in the chamber. Both of those failures happened within about 6 mos apart.
What does all that mean? One, I'll never get rid of that Rossi! But honestly, most lever action rifles are built from pretty tough stock and have been for well over 100 years. Most will tell you that my experience is a "one off" and I will admit that if you try to get factory service done, you might as well just buy a new gun.
I own Marlin's, Henry's, Uberti's and Winchesters in a variety of calibers and flavors. They are all great guns of solid design who would serve any shooter well, but none have been tested as hard as that Rossi.Murphy's Law - What can happen will happen at the least opportune momentComment

Dagnabbit! gunrun! If that ain't one of the more-interesting posts I've seen lately.
And, it's a testament to the (Interarms?) Rossi of the day. I love my blued 16" .357 round barrel. I keep it right close to me here in the house. My Marlins are locked up, and as much as I love my Marlins, I'd blow a gasket if anything untoward (unwelcome, unfortunate, or infelicitous) happened to this Rossi.

You got that right!!!
If I could only convince more folks of that (a sling is to a rifle, as a holster is to a sidearm), and how to properly use one, there would be a lot less ***-hatery and rude behavior (poor gun handling) on firing ranges. As a CRSO at my club, we try to instill that in everyone, and all those who use a sling properly have been in my observation much more safety conscious than those who don't.Comment

I have the 20" Rossi #92.
There were a lot of considerations brought up on your choice.
I am very happy with the Rossi but if i had not known it was a project beforehand i would not be.
I would say if you look forward to stripping the gun down, stoning, polishing, replacing springs and poring over every you tube to slick the gun up and considering the price the Rossi is the way to go.
If not, i would go another way. What do you call the people that abandoned the agenda of John Kennedy and adopted the agenda of Lee Oswald?

Uber and I spent the morning shooting my CSBL and a little with the 1895. It's as fun as ever.
I kinda want to get a Henry too, and I NEED to get an 1866.
On paper at 50 yards, with a 3MOA red dot, the CSBL shot the same size groups as my Ruger PCC with the same red dot...so I'm happy with it. Very fun.Comment
