    Thanks Boarhuntor.

Since I'm having trouble texting and phoning, I'll put this here. Tom, Mark, headed out to our spot off the 395 this Thursday, if not then Friday for sure. If it's raining in the basin on Thurs, the weather app says the dez should be clear.

This 20" rifle is as dark as I could get it. I'd like just a little darker. [ATTACH]

I just picked up a 20" round barrel. Its was $486.98 at Buds Gun. OTD it was $602 and change.

Just like the other 3 rossis that I have, it has problems. This one won't cycle the longer .357 rounds. I'm not worried, it will probably smooth out or I'll just make some shorter loads..

I've come to the conclusion that the Winchester is the way to go. Its right at a $400.00 differents.

The bluing on the Rossi's is beautiful, the fit is ok and the wood is just ok. If you take a white cloth and rub it over the wood it will turn a redish brown due to the shoe polish finish they use. I'm going to just try some 1/3rd mix on it.

Suprisingly, the action on this one is smooth and easy.

Your going to really like that gun. IMO, the tube feed guns are great for the range and just plinking. Please post up some pictures and a range report.

I can't wait for the side loader in 44mag to be made ..

My Henry Big Boy brass in .357 handles .38 spl just fine. But, I've only run 158's thru them in .38 cases. I usually run .357 thru it.
Oh, as a side note: .38 loads in .357 cases works well. This eliminates the "carbon ring" in the chamber. That ring can eventually lead to difficulty in chambering .357 rounds. Regular cleaning helps a bunch.

Whichever you choose, I can tell you that shooting commercial .357 from a lever carbine is about the most fun you can have with yer pants on.

                          And that's a fact.

Learn to handload (which I do but for .44 and .45-70) and I'm sure it'll be even more fun.
