When life gives you glocks make glocamole.

What kind of reloads? Are they round nose? Is there any lip on the edge of the case? Also if they are on the weak side, probably not the best ammo for break-in. Could this be another follower issue (shame glocks have been having issue here)?

Don't worry OP, your not the only one who breaks in their guns with reloads.

I would suggest you unload the gun, remove the barrel and drop a bunch of the reloads into the one at a time chamber, make sure the bottom of the case is flush with the chamber wall. If some of them do not fit, the issue Is the reloads are not made within spec. If they do fit however, the problem could still be the reloads, but at least that is a good place to start.

I've been thinking about this thread for a while...and still think the ammo is the culprit.

          Perhaps some uber hard primers?

I own a bunch of glocks, and have shot everything under the sun through them...including hollow point defense loads, factory fmj, reloads. 9mm bullets across the weight spectrum.

I've never had a single problem, and this encompasses more than 20,000 rounds from multiple guns. Probably 60,000 rounds between them all.

Did you inspect the primer surface of the rounds that did not cycle?

If so, what did you see?

You should have bought an on-roster XD9 Tactical a few weeks ago for a lot less and used the Springfield promotion to get three mags & pouches for free like the rest of us. But, that Glock looks sorta cool, I guess.

Oh well, there's always next year's promotion.

Never have had a problem with my G17. I am with everyone thinking bad ammo or its you. I never knew Glocks were hated so much because they work. Maybe you got a lemon. But like Yeager said, "A glock that doesn't work is just as rare as a 1911 that does work".

LOL, the irony of you posting this in a thread about another glock that doesn't work is just too much.

FWIW, the simple fact that run away Yeager said that is all the proof you need that it's false. Why does anyone take that guy seriously? Yeager is just like Rush Limbaugh or Jon Stewart telling people what they already want to believe just to make a buck.

I ended up buying the G17L!

I just took it to the SSZS in barstow.

I took it out loaded the mags with Bulletmans 9mm reloads and it would not cycle them! One or two shots and the casing got stuck every time. I think it is because the loads are not hot enough!

BUT my biggest gripe is that all this hyoe about glocks and my very firrst $730 glock dosnt even work!!!!!!

I have a XD40 and I have shot thousands of bulletmans reloads with out a hickup!

                  So F&^%K Glock!!!!!!!
So your pistol choked on some ****ty second-rate reloads and you're mad at it?

Basically what most folks said...try factory ammo & make sure no limp wristing before you give up on it. Wait...who said that? I'm not a Glock fan...

So you guys are saying bullet man's reloads are crap? Don't know because I never got a chance to try them because he never answered when I would pm/email/call.

I've always used my own reloads when shooting my guns for the first time, never had a problem. If I were you OP, I'd be mad too.

Ive easily shot 6-7k of Bulletman's crappy reloads with maybe 2-3 issues. If I remember correctly it was light primer strikes due to dicking around with the trigger.

I've been through about 10k+ BM reloads in 9, 40, 45, x39 and .38. I still have about 5 unopened boxes left too. I've yet to have a single dud round.

About half of this forum can attest to the same result. BM reloads are quality.

As for OP's issue. It sounds like he went from 0-100 over a small, easy to fix issue. From a brand new never fired gun that happens to thousands of off the shelf guns. In any brand.

I believe the .40s&w glocks are the most reliable, but like ronin2 said break em in with a couple hundred pack factory 9's and it should break in. Some peeps do the gen3 recoil system in their gen4's and swear by em'

I'll see that earlier offer of $300 and raise it to $500 (firm). I'd love to offer what you paid for it, but this is obviously a defective gun. But for $500, I think it's worth taking a chance on.

Like I said, it may be that he got a lemon which is pretty rare for a Glock but there is still a probability even if it's a small percentage. He should try better ammo and let someone who has more experience shooting Glocks try it. If it still malfunctions, then obviously he got a lemon. Although uncommon for Glocks, it can happen. But just because one glock doesn't work doesn't mean Glocks don't live up to their reputation.
