A long slide (even with the milled out part) and a long barrel weigh quite a bit more than, say, a G19 slide assembly. Reloads that function flawlessly in a G19 or G17, may fail to cycle a G17L.

The good news for the OP is you get to run hotter ammo and get the same effect as someone running gamer loads in a G17.

Just kidding..you'll figure out the problem, just be patient. 1) Make sure that you are holding the gun tight (not limp wristing) as another Calgunner mentioned - The auto gun needs a solid hold to push up against to allow the slide to cycle correctly. Too much "give" in your hold will cause ejection and feeding issues; 2) Try factory ammo.

I'm gonna concur with those who say you should have stuck with XD, by the way. I can't imagine a big XD fan to be very happy after moving to Glock.

Thanks for your snarky, useless contribution to the thread. Perhaps premium factory ammo only is a good rule for people who shoot 100 rounds a year, but people who shoot a lot tend to use reloads.

You're most welcome. Before jumping to blame the gun, OP should have verified with another brand of ammo, preferably factory. Perhaps he should use Seal 1 to clean his Glock. I hear it makes a difference.

I shoot the cheapest ammo I can find in my Berettas and M&P's. I would expect the same out of a Glock if I ever bought one. It isn't exactly a match grade hand fitted 1911 that is expected to require some TLC during break in.

I got it for two reasons, one being end of SSE and the other owning at least ONE before I die cause of all the hype.

Just sucks that after all that the first one I buy, I need to:
*watch my limp wrist
*use better ammo
*change springs
*say a prayer before shooting
*rub my lucky rabbit foot
*etc etc

I buy a NEW and much HYPED gun and I expect it to work PERIOD! reloads or not!

Methinks someone is limp wristing their Glock. Pause your hate, get an experienced shooter to try the gun. If it jams for them, then you can rev your Glock angst up again.

If works fine for them, then there is a simple solution...

The good news is, like a Toyota or a MacBook, you can probably sell it used to some Glock fan for pretty much what you paid for it.
