dang... 17L is selling for $650 at my LGS...

never did have a single malfunction with my 27. I've fed it everything from cheap remen range ammo to "premium" JHPs...

hope the OP gets this resolved. really, this is unlike how a Glock usually function. not a good intro to a brand, especially when the buyer got caught up in the hype and the product did not deliver, user error or not(unknown at his point).

Bought a glock 19 and sold both of my XD's (4" and 5") shortly after. XD trigger is garbage imo. Way too much travel and feels extremely mushy. The trigger reset on a glock sets a standard. Follow up shots are much quicker and easier on the glock.

Long slide guns are generally gonna be more picky about ammo. My 5" xd would rarely lock back after the last round except when using +p.

That's weird- iv'e owned both the Glock 17 and Xd-40 and to me the XD trigger is better. With the Glock I can feel substantial plastic on plastic friction, and the pull feels substantially heavier to me with a more vague break. The only positive with the Glock is a much better/shorter trigger reset.

Yeager may talk a lot of **** but the guy does run a company that revolves around thousands (probably millions) of rounds being fired and witnessing enough guns pass/fail his course to form such an opinion. So his statement is not invalid. It does hold some truth to it because of the fact he has much experience using Glocks and seeing his students use them for as long as he has been running his company.

Kind of weird. I'll concur with everyone else and say it's the reloads. I had a 19 that I would shoot everything through with 0 problems. Reloads, high end and super crappy stuff. So, that's saying something. Get some federal or something and try again. 9mm glocks are ridiculously reliable

Thanks for your snarky, useless contribution to the thread. Perhaps premium factory ammo only is a good rule for people who shoot 100 rounds a year, but people who shoot a lot tend to use reloads.

The flip side is also true, Bobby. I've never tried to break in a new firearm using reloads. I've shot tens of thousands of factory ammo in my life. I'm not a rich guy. I'd never break in any auto pistol using reloads.

Glocks manual specifically says not to use reloads, not even universally accepted reloads.

I don't mind that he used reloads, or even that he's trying to figure out why they didn't function. My beef is the instant internet hyperbole, Glocks must suck because he couldn't get reloads to work in a new gun

I am sooo pissed!

As some of you may habe seen my glock thread asking which one I should buy!

I ended up buying the G17L!

I just took it to the SSZS in barstow.


I took it out loaded the mags with Bulletmans 9mm reloads and it would not cycle them! One or two shots and the casing got stuck every time. I think it is because the loads are not hot enough!

BUT my biggest gripe is that all this hyoe about glocks and my very firrst $730 glock dosnt even work!!!!!!

I have a XD40 and I have shot thousands of bulletmans reloads with out a hickup!

So F&^%K Glock!!!!!!!

Imo 730 is not a lot for a gun (what the op's original post said). It is way too much for a glock.
