    EtA: accurately?

I shoot it just fine. I just finally realized I was holding more marketing than handgun.

I've got about 1000rds through a PPQ and about almost double that on a VP9. For me, the VP9 is superior in a lot of ways to PPQ. There are no weak parts on a VP9, whereas a PPQ has a plastic guide rod. Taking a look at the internals on both pistols, you'll find the VP9 is more robust as well, particularly in the trigger housing. I can stay on target more easily because the muzzle flip on a VP9 is noticeably less between the two. Don't know where the "mushy" part of a trigger is on a VP9 either, never experienced it nor even seen a video of anyone with one either. People really underestimate its shorter trigger break as well.

Lives up to the hype in my book, save the P7, it is the best striker-fired pistol I've ever shot. MAC (Military Arms Channel), Colion Noir, and Sootch all pick VP9 over PPQ, make of that what you will.

The PPQ with small back strap just fits my hand better than any combination I can get with the HK. The trigger on my HK is mushy, creepy and gritty so I'm really not a big fan.

I bought both guns at the same time, shot them back to back on the same range trips so no part of me is trying to justify the purchase. The PPQ is the better gun for me. Yes there is more muzzle flip but just slightly more, I can get back to target just as fast with practice.

Now I just need new sights for my PPQ the factory ones are not very good
Kevin - my VP9 has sat in my safe since I picked it up a month ago (shows you how excited I am to shoot that thing haha). I just picked up my Walther PPS from OC Armory yesterday... finally got the green light from the wife to goto the range Sunday. So I'm going to be comparing the PPQ, VP9, and Sphinx back to back, then I'm going to shoot the PPS enough to see if it's good enough to be added to my ccw. Can't wait. Hoping the VP9 disappoints so I won't be tempted to add it to my ccw, as the Sphinx is currently the front runner for my 3rd ccw spot! haha

Sootch00 doesn't pick the VP9 over the PPQ... he said both are good guns, and it's personal preference, to goto a gun shop and compare them side by side & see what's best for you.

They are a couple of great handguns. While I've gone with the VP9, you certainly can't go wrong with the PPQ.

Tim, I'm with you. I favor the VP9. Not that I'm ditching the PPQ, but I can't stop shooting the HK. Thanks Bro~

            Yes, yes he does.

whatever the case...it's all subjective... YMMV everyone's entitled to their own opinions. Best thing to do is go out there & shoot them both & decide for yourself.

Sorry but this thread is useless.

The title alone is to provide a platform for arguments.

The body alone compares two guns, which is not what the title states.

You say its hype because of the trigger , yet say the trigger is fine, its a good gun, and believe it should be reliable never the less.

Reading your title HKVP9 HYPE I was looking for reasons why the HKVP9 was not worth its price tag. I was looking for why you thought the ergonmics were horrible, why the build quality was low quality, why the slide wobbles, why you had so many FTE's , all the FTF's, why the trigger was so heavy with a terrible reset and lots of creep, magazine doesnt sit well, terrible aftermarket, terrible accuracy, bad sights, no rail, I mean come on what are you basing your hype off of? because HK is a very well known company and based their HKVP9 off thier p30 which is legendary and well respected, so immediately people were eager to get thier hands on it?

HYPE - to promote or publicize (a product or idea) intensively, often exaggerating its importance or benefits.

Tell me what is exaggerated here?

Just because you compared it to another really well made gun (ppq) and you find the ppq to have a better trigger to your liking, and it is also cheaper than the HK VP9, doesnt mean you have a base to claim the vp9 is all hype and does not provide a very good quality handgun.

"It's personal preference" That tells me nothing. Sootch has said he favors the VP9. That is his preference. That tells you something.

I have both guns and favor the PPQ because I must have a lemon VP9 - the trigger is awful. Gritty, crunchy, and an audible and tactile stopping poiint half way through the pull. So do I need to send it back to HK to get it fixed? I have fired 300+ rounds so I think any improvement would have surfaced by now.

                      That's one man's opinion.

Sootch and MAC are great reviewers but I take the facts they presented as facts and their opinions as just opinions, nothing more. They usually, if ever, comes out and say one gun is superior to another as a fact.

You may think their preference weights more than the average Joe but many others and I do not think so. Their preference does not dictate what I like or dislike nor does it really say a gun is indeed better than the other. The fact that they prefer something only means they have their preferences, nothing more.

Love my PPQs. I have 5 VP9's (well 2 now as 3 were sold)

I was one of the first guys in Norcal to have a VP9...unimpressed compared to the PPQ.

It's like Walther decided they've spend too much money developing other parts of the gun so they just threw the P22 sights on it.

I think they are the same sights...
