Shield Dumping

yes to all of this.It has a particular purpose ... concealed carry. if you buy it as a range gun you might be disappointed.
If I had a permit and were carrying mine, I'd use the 7 rounder (with no pinky space) to carry it, but have the 8 rounder as the spare pocket mag. If I ever needed it, I'm sure the missing pinky space would not upset me.
I just wanted one, I got the non-CA model the DAY before the CA model flood started. Which is funny because when I had picked it up, my FFL was saying "It's so weird, the CA model is supposed to be available, but it's not even on their website as available yet. It's frustrating" then the next day, 20 posts pop up on CG about the new CA models in stores!
I'm always baffled by posts about small guns not fitting hands and hard to shoot?... They aren't range guns, aren't going to have great accuracy at 20+ yards, and aren't to look cool... they are to carry comfortably and get the job done at relatively close distances... the Shield (among others) does all that.
And I agree 100% about carry with the short mag and use extended mag as back-up... there's no "how to book" that tells you to do this - but it seems like common sense to me. The short mag conceals well and is comfortable to carry - who cares about the folded pinky
FWIW, I actually favor the P938 which is everything above magnified x10. But carries as if it's not there - and isn't hard to shoot once you realize it's functional purpose."Kamala is a radical leftist lunatic" ~ Donald J. TrumpComment

I believe the Shield was (is) over-hyped. It may be "good", but, so are alot of other guns. I just don't see what this gun brings to the table to make it the Holy Grail some folks think it is?"Bye Felicia!" - Said by me, as I looked at Kalfornia in my rearview for the last time, 9/22/17.

I support gun control.....if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it!

I've never seen it construed as the Holy Grail... it's cheap, it's reliable, it's concealable and it shoots as good as any comparable pistol.
While I agree there are other considerations, I'm not sure what gun outperforms in all categories mentioned above."Kamala is a radical leftist lunatic" ~ Donald J. TrumpComment

unfortunately the title of CA DOJ Iconic "restriction list" finalist isn't all that palatable to most people..."Kamala is a radical leftist lunatic" ~ Donald J. TrumpComment

I didn't buy my shield because I thought it was the "end all ccw pistol" or the "latest and greatest." I bought it because I already had m&p that I loved, the grip angle fits me, and its priced under $500 OTD. You back that up with an American made products with oneof the industries best customer service and you got yyourself a good deal that you can bet your life onFOR SALE:

I'd have to guess dumping Shields is down to flipping or finding out the fun doesn't fit in the hand well. I don't have big hands but it still took a little time to get used to the smaller grip of the Shield. I did get another floor plate for the 7rd mag that has an extension, though. It helps without making it stick out too much. All in all, I like the gun but as others say it's not the end all be all (or whatever).Comment

not to discount anyones reason for liking or disliking a gun... but...
what trigger expectation is there of a sub-compact weapon designed for concealed carry/self defense?...
It's not a target gun, not a competition shooter... and even though I've never had to draw a weapon to defend my life, I'm positive the trivial trigger attributes would not be a consideration (with any pistol) if I had to use it to thwart an assailant..."Kamala is a radical leftist lunatic" ~ Donald J.
