Shield Dumping

I was interested in the Shield, and recently was able to handle a .40 S&W version in a LGS. While it felt great in my hands, the ergonomics were very pleasing to me, very nice ergonomics to me in fact, there was not enough size difference to justify another manufacturer/model beyond what I currently have and enjoy shooting at that size, which is the Ruger SR9C and SR940c. I just couldn't justify another holster, multiple mags, range time, etc., because for me, the size difference just didn't justify a change and that expenditure. Would I love to have one, yes, I think they are well designed and would be a good shooter and addition. But based upon the purpose of the gun's design, I couldn't justify moving away from something that works for me. And will be selling a Kahr CW9 to help pick up another Ruger.

For those who installed Apex kit in the Shield, which Apex kit did you install?

A DCAEK + AEK trigger did my Shield wonders.

Supply and demand. So many on the market, so lots of ppl are flipping them.

I found that my finger rides so high on the trigger that the safety doesn't disengage before contacting the frame. Annoying.

I wonder if people are finding that having such a compact 9mm isn't really necessary for concealment and opted for "compact" models like the G19 or M&P9C. I've stopped giving a damn, started wearing a comfy OWB and not caring about the lump on my hip, or that the bottom may peek out when I reach for something.

yup I handled the XDS, Shield, and Sig P938 and decided I didn't need a subcompact. I'm ccw'ing my Walther PPQ & Sig P220 Carry Elite SAO. but I do both in a IWB Nightingale Raptor & Milt Sparks VM2. What I realized is that most people do not think you're carrying, it doesn't even cross their mind...

I find it funny that 90% of the Shields for sale in the Classifieds (both CA and non-CA models) are selling for MORE than what you can buy them for new at the LGS or via SSE.

But then again, that's the Calguns way

Especially Sigs for some reason. They're trying to sell sigs for over $1000 that are $600-700 brand spanking new!

I definitely love a full size M&P though...
