    Range gear

I am new to this firearm stuff. I am looking for a little bag or case that I can use to carry my handgun to the range. Not looking to spend too much money. Just something small to carry the firearm and the mags. Cabelas has z fitted one that looks nice. Any help or advise would be appreciated.

I have the LAPG bailout bag...inexpensive, but plenty of room and pockets to carry a lot of things in a small package

The LAPG Tactical Bailout Bag was designed to be the ultimate in personal gear carrying. It's perfect for a wide range of tasks.

They also usually have coupons and sometimes free shipping... Wait til fourth of July, they will mostly likely have a coupon or free shipping by then.

I found a real nice one on Amazon for 40 bucks and free shipping. Also seen some at Walmart for about 20 bucks.

use whatever you feel good with. Some like to have a bag that takes a cable lock. I use a large bag with lots of pocket.
You will soon find that you take ear muffs, safety glasses, spare pairs, small tool set to adjust or tighten up sights. Some Spring clamps to hold the target, masking tape and on and on. I used to use a carry on airline bag, has wheels and a handle and now I use a small pelican in carry on size with wheels and the range bag.
Pelican has the guns, bag the ammo.

Might be a good sticky if not done already, show us your range bag.

I use a range box from MTM. A small compartment on top for tools. A lift out tray and the bottom area for the guns and ammo. It does have a provision for a paddle lock for transport in those kind of states.

midwayusa has some of the cheapest range bags. use their coupon codes for free shipping or 10-15% discounts.

I have one of these and love. Depending on the size of the guns you have you can get up to 5 guns in it at a time. It has a removable tray that I will put on the bench @ the range to hold my guns and the under part of the box is big enough to hold a bunch of ammo, ears, eyes and a few other stuff too.

                  Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I bought the MidwayUSA compact bag a while ago during a sale and have been really happy with it. The only problem is the shipping cost. It also now seems like they got rid of USPS Flat Rate shipping so if your order is too big for First Class then usually it goes UPS Ground in which case throwing in the range bag won't cost that much more.

Also, don't let the name fool you. The compact bag is plenty big for at least a few pistols plus standard range equipment.

midwayusa.com has a couple of great range bags. They have pistol rugs, ammo storage, drink storage as well as a brass bag. I have their large bag and I stuff it to the brim with various parts when I hit the range.

I got the bigger one for 39.99 on sale when they have sales, and you could get either one and be happy with it. Good luck, but these have outlasted many other more expensive bags.

I use a pelican case with foam holds 4 pistols and mags ,dont know size was given to me by friend .Then I carry all my shooting supplies in another soft bag I purchased at good will. low buck but works.
I like the having a separate bag with all the range essentials, as I can grab it and a rifle case. I need to do is change out the ammo in the bag for what ever I am shooting .

I believe this may be the case

                        1450 BLACK CASE

The nylon bag May be an old camera case has multiple pockets
                        looks simular to this

Also in side the nylon bag I use some small Nylon bags do seperate small items
I found a three pack at home depot, they look like these just they are different colors and sizes

An old starter camera bag is what I use.

                          Standard configuration.

                          - Set of Eyes (2)
                          - Set of Ears (2)
                          - Handful of in ear plugs

(Usually bring a a new shooter to the range.

                          Small can of CLP
                          9mm and .22/.223 bore snakes

The bag is square so it's perfect for ammo as well.

If you are not familiar with MIDWAY this is a good opportunity. Their range bags are REALLY tough and well thought out. There are a couple on this page that would work for you....
