I always leave the magazine out for safety purposes. I have 4 magas fr HK UPS, and i dont want to confuse myself on wether its loaded or uinloaded, I l keep two mags filled with hydrashocks in the dresser drawer, and always perform a loaded check when handling the weapon. I figure its better to be safe than sorry. To get into my place you would need to go through two doors with dead bolts, so by the time they got through the second one I would have the USP ready to go, and my remington 870 locked and loaded.

i generally keep either a holstered 228 or usp .45 compact on nightstand, round chambered. no rug rats so that's a non-issue...

I clicked yes with mag in but not chambered. I have a Glock and a 870... We have no kid yet and have had bad experiences in the past, so we do feel safer. My girlfriend shoots, so I'm never worried when she's home alone. We have a dog, but no where near dangerous... he's a corgi named Peanut.

Mine is a PPK/S ready to rock. I also have a flashlight handy. I live in a very safe community and people like me keep it that way.

actually I do the opposite and I keep a bed with a blanket next to my gun.

Wilson Combat CQB 1911 .45 10 rd extended mag in but not in chamer. Keep in a gunvault next to the bed that I open before I go to sleep and close when I wake up.

                          Mossberg 590 under the bed

AK in the closet seperated from loaded mags but accessible in case of retreat

XD 45 with loaded mag, an 870, flashlight, and a dog (AR in the closet). I live in a nice neighborhood, but isn't that where the crooks go to get nice stuff? If someone breaks into my place I plan on lighting them up.

Of course only if they are an imminent unlawful deadly threat

Yes, I keep my Bersa Thunder .380 with the chamber loaded ready to go in DA mode. I keep it in a drawer in my night stand. I live alone so there is no chance someone else is going to know it is there.
