The gun is different, but you shoot it the same way. Most of the issues are in the trigger. Oceanbob gave you good advice with the connector and some polish. I didn't see your location, but if you're ever near by let me know and I can do the polish for you in a few minutes and we can hit the range and work on that trigger.

i got that .25 job done, i have to contact glock regarding a trigger bar issue and i was hesitant on the 4.5lb connector at first, but i may do that now...i usually shoot at Insight in Artesia or Magnum in Riverside, if you ever go to any of those ill be more than glad to take you up on your offer

The 4.5lbs trigger connect is a factory Glock part, so there's no need to worry about it. I go to Insight on occasion, but I prefer Evan's in Orange because they allow rapid fire and double taps.i got that .25 job done, i have to contact glock regarding a trigger bar issue and i was hesitant on the 4.5lb connector at first, but i may do that now...i usually shoot at Insight in Artesia or Magnum in Riverside, if you ever go to any of those ill be more than glad to take you up on your offer

oh man im not far from Oside either, i am in South Corona
they allow civilians to work off a holster? rifles? and rapid fire? is this indoor? if so that might be a good place to practice defensive stuff

again, i understand i need more practice but why when i can shoot a 1911 just as easily and accurately and more consistently...im just sayin, how come glocks have that learning curve? is that something to accept because millions have used it and got competent with it? is there a slight/minute flaw in their design that makes it a bit difficult for someone new into shooting to develop their shots?
so it doesnt turn into a 1911 vs glock thread, i will also test an xD and M&P next time i hit the range and report back
I've gotten use to Glock triggers. For practical self defense shooting, if you can keep a 4" group you are fine for most (thought not all) situations. How much of a difference are we talking about between the two? Is it possible you are being over critical on accuracy?RIP Louis Awerbuck. I miss you and your training.Comment

^thats the thing i wish i took pics of my last range trip, but now i i just got my kimber duracoated and im waiting on the finish to cure, maybe it will be good by next week
i will shoot both, with the same stance, same distance, same grip etc. as best as i can and you guys can maybe chime in
i've always shot a bigger group with my glock and for a while i expected it as i do consider it more of a defensive pistol than a range queen...im just wondering why that is, it just seems like i have to put in a lot of trigger time, to the glock as opposed to the 1911, to get the same/similar results-Coi- N R A member since 2008

My first pistol, purchased back in 2008, was a Colt 1911 XS (the model before the XSE). It was the only pistol I shot, and I learned to shoot it well.
My 2nd pistol, purchased 2 weeks ago and picked up just yesterday at 11:00 AM, was a Glock 17.
Went shooting the same day, 3 PM at Richmond. Here are the results:

16 shots are from the 1911, the rest out of the Glock.
Learning curve? What learning curve?
