Sig vs Glock

Keep the Glock, buy a Sig. 2 is 1, 1 is none. I have a P226 Legion and P229 Legion in 9mm and a few Glocks in 9mm. I can hit the target with all of them. You just need to learn how to work with your gun so your gun can work for you.

We all know Glocks are for folks on a budget. There is nothing wrong with that either. Its been that way for years. Nothing has changed.

Oh puhlease, hahah. Sig's Glock knock-off cost the same as a real Glock. P-226 are what... $400 more? Big deal. A USP is a better buy, and a CZ is an even better buy than that (better guns).

Gazillions of people who can afford whatever they want choose Glock... really brand myopic Sig fans choose the Glock knock-offs. (been like that for ages and nothing has changed)

Bruh I'm not gonna lie though there are Glock fanboys that are like "REEEE" snowflakes if anyone says any answer other than Glock. Like, the concept of not going with a Glock triggers meltdowns. I had someone specific in mind and he actually posted in a different thread recently, as I was thinking of him.

I have both. Keep your Glock and save up for the P226. They are both great guns and should be kept in any decent rotation.

Lots of people who like Glocks also like variety. Glock was late to the party in my collection but I have a lot of them. I still buy other guns like PPQ, CZ-75, USP, C clones. I can tell you that my USP is great but isn’t any more capable than my G41... probably significantly less capable actually. My G17’s are better than that PPQ 5” or Q5. Just my opinion. I don’t care if someone chooses a P226, but when the best argument is that Sig costs more than you can afford... ahahahah... that’s pure entertainment worthy of a reply. Just my opinion.

I agree, but a significant number of Glock people out there, even on this forum, can't fathom that concept of variety. And the argument "it costs half as much but does everything better because Glock is perfect in factory form in every way" gets tossed out an awful lot. Feels like everyone is just regurgitate brainwashed talking points. Really its bad on both sides. Both Glock haters and Glock fanboys have their own version of TDS.

As an overprotective parent, what should I do when I catch Glock snuggling with Sig? (And the orange crap on the Glock is DryFireMag, because everyone should practice every single day)

Shoot the Glock as much as you like and sell it when it seems broken, but keep the Sig to pass it to the next generation. I do not think any polymer gun including Glock or Sig will last that long.

Glock 19 was my first firearm. I've put roughly 10,000 rounds through it without issue. It is reliable and affordable.

That being said... I own a 226 Legion SAO and a P320 X5 Legion and enjoy shooting both of them more than I do the Glock 19.

All guns have their place.

If you're not happy with your Glock and shoot the Sig better, then it's a no-brainer. But if there's nothing wrong with your Glock, and you shoot it accurately, I'd suggest trying to save up for a while and buy a Sig in addition to your Glock. That way if the Sig turns out to be less of a revelation than you expected, you still have your Glock.

It really comes down to personal preference. I have sold a handful of guns that just didn't *work* for me over the years. But I usually sold them after I bought something that I liked better. It took me a few tries to find a compact that I really liked: A Sig P6 had issues with the slide lock; An RIA 1911 Officer kept jamming; The Ruger SR9c was fine, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would; I finally settled on a used OD Green Glock 26 with upgraded sights and I shoot it better than all the others.

If it really doesn't *work* for you, no shame in moving on to something that does! It really just comes down to personal preference.
But don't be surprised if you eventually come full circle and get another Glock...
