Sounds like there are people who love an old sa/da hammer fired Sig. I would not trade a gen3 Glock for a CA LCI mag disconnect Sig. Maybe get an old one via PPT for a range toy.

If you see the value in the Glock system, try a G17 or even a G26. A G19 is not for everyone.

I would wait to buy the Sig until panic buying is over and prices come down. Then patiently look for an off roster Sig without the LCI monstrosity on the slide.

I mean, I have sold quite a few, but I also own a number. If you only own one, then I completely agree that it is not the time to sell any.

I have both and i like them both . I shoot both of them well with the sig having the slight advantage because i have more rounds through it.
For the money i think an cz spo1 is a really good buy with the cajun gunworks package it costs about the same as a sig and it shoots like a dream definitely something to consider.

Sig's all metal, it has less felt recoil. That's still in the realm of shooter error, but the additional layer of comfort may lead to a more pleasant, and therefore more accurate, shooting experience for some people.

On the flip side of things, not to promote gouging, but if you really absolutely wanted a Sig over a Glock, depending on accessories magazines night sights, etc. with Covid and Riot inflation you could probably even break even on the cost.

Pay the CA markup on a P320 and have the best of both worlds. I've owned Glock and SIG in all different flavors. The P320 is really an awesome gun.

SIG people seem to be as die hard as some Glock fans... personally, I think CZ 75 and H&K USP are better hammer fired guns. Glocks for serious use. Hilarious that people still doubt Glock toughness - they sell themselves. The hate is pure entertainment.

Can a Sig out live a Glock ? I find that a Sig 226 9mm is far more than accurate over Glock. What's your experience?
If you can swing it I'd suggest that you keep the Glock and get the Sig. shoot them both a few times and your choice will become clear. On the other hand you may like and keep both which IMHO is the best choice.

My advice is to stop chasing the durability demon. Fact is they all break. Its a machine and machines wear out, parts break. Having worked at a range that rents guns, I've seen em all break, range guns and customer guns. Glock, Beretta, Sig, H&K, Ruger, Springfield, S&W, literally all of them have broken and been sent out for repair or replacement. Steel feame, aluminum frame, polymer frame, all break at some point. From use, abuse, defects whatever. None "outlive" another. Its just a matter of time...if you shoot em haha. Don't shoot em and they last forever. Range guns are a good source to see failures, however it is unrealistic to an individual as some guns see over 1k a day for multiple days a week.

Purely my opinion and theory, if the cost of the gun is a big deal then its not going to get shot enough where durability, matters. The Glock and Sig are both top notch guns. I've seen both of them fail irrepairable within weeks. I've also seen both last way longer than expected. Anyways, the gun is the least expensive component in shooting. Shooting means buying or making ammo to shoot. You pay $500 one time to buy a Glock and thats it, you have a Glock. Pay $1k for a 226 once and you have a Sig. Ammo is what like $200/case for 9mm...so a case a month is $2400 for a year, every year. Going through 3 cases in a year and thats the cost of another Glock. If you're not shooting a case a year, then my advice is to stop worrying about durability and worry about how to get proficient, stay safe, dry fire, with that little bit of practice. If the ammo budget is small then get the gun you like and try to shoot it as much as possible. Most of the cost of the gun can even be recovered if you sell it. Once you commit to shooting the ammo, its gone. So the actual spending on a gun is very little.

I've been around both a lot, I have owned both. Subjectively one maybe better than the other, but I doubt that in an objective test. There's probably some Ransom tests on the web you can find. But objectively great doesn't mean you'll like it, and doesn't mean it won't break.

So in a nutshell, get and shoot what you like. Accuracy in a gun doesn't mean you'll like it, doesn't mean it won't break. If you're really going to shoot the gun then the ammunition costs will surpass the gun many times.

crufflers, I like you, and I legit don't mean this next comment in a personal or directed way, honestly just piggybacking off your comment. Yeah, the hate is entertaining, but the Glock fanboys taking any slightly negative comment about Glocks so personally, as if their own child got punched in the face, is pure entertainment as well.

I personally own more Glocks than I do Sigs. They're fine. They work. The only time they stopped working was when I installed a Vickers Tactical slide stop in my gun. I went back to Glock OEM and all was well in the world again. (They are modified though with other parts, running a Brownells slide, Brownells barrel, Haley trigger.)

I don't have a preferred side in the fight, I just see that Glock people most often are the ones getting riled up with religious fervor and I agree with you, pure entertainment.

And yeah I agree with Dooder, I doubt OP will ever shoot his Glock to breaking due to durability concerns and if he does, it'll be so many decades down the line that he'll have saved enough up to get many more Glocks, or the 2A will be dead and nobody will have guns anymore anyways.

Sigs are fine. But do they do anything better than Glock? No.

There are plenty of Sigs I want. But I've chosen Beretta, CZ, and Glock over Sigs. At the end of the day, they're all machines. There's nothing magical about them. I shoot my guns as well as I've ever shot any Sig. Why pay double?
