In other news, I've had a few *cough* *clears throat* 1911's in 45. Recently, I purchased a couple of 1911's in 9mm. I think JMB made a mistake. But back in those days they spoke highly of the "knock down power" which we all have learned is myth.

Moro rebellion 1899-1913 is the reason for the 45 acp. Moro(Muslim) suicide attackers soaked up dozens of 38 caliber bullets before dropping. It only took one 45 Colt bullet to drop them.

The 1911 first saw action in 1916. I don't know when the 45 acp first seen testing in action, it was first chambered in the M1905.
