You are able to do electronic through Fieldprint, it should have a link included once you submit the application I believe, AZ rejected my 2 sets of fingerprint cards supposedly saying that the quality was not good enough for them to run them through their system so I was out the $82 plus the $8 for USPS shipping of them so then I opted to do the electronic route and all it cost was $10 and I did not have to wait for the post office to deliver them, its instantaneous.

Seems to be some problem with renewals submitted online... Submitted in May for a permit expiring in July. Noticed it hadn't come back while preparing for a trip in Oct. Called and it was approved while on the phone. Not sure what happened between May and Sept???

Just got notice of the status going "Background Received" What's an estimated time frame for getting the permit from this point?

Received the approval email from AZ Dept of Safety last night, permit is in the mail. Whole process took just under a month and was super smooth and easy!

They do make it very easy if you follow their instructions carefully. Even when u call, once they pick up generally very helpful and can usually push your application through if it's been stuck processing for a while. (Assuming you would pass your backround check)

Good for you! I submitted my application in June and checked permitium several times- still in progress - no email requesting more info. When I called in July I was told to look at permitium and not call back. 12 years ago, my first permit zipped through in 3 weeks.
                  Guess I’ll call Monday. Cheers.

I would still call them back if permitium still shows in progress....it has been 3 to 4 months....should not take that long. Maybe calling them will help push it through to get approved and mailed out soon after.

Called today 15 Oct at about 10:00 and within three minutes a nice lady answered, checked the status and replied that she just pushed it to Approved. I hand a multitude of distractions this past summer and hadn’t set a priority to call. All Good.

I submitted my application for AZ CCW on Dec 28th and physical fingerprints were delivered to them on Jan 2nd. I used my CA CCW for the training requirement part. We'll see how it goes.

My permit expires in August, I should probably start the renewal process now.

I got my AZ CCW license today. So it took about 2.5 weeks.
