    Banned again.

From CalCCW. My understanding of what a permit exempts seems to differ from what many there understand.

It is over and so are you. When a Judge, Deputy District Attorney, and a criminal defense Attorney ALL hit report a post. With pretty much the same comment. The gravel dropped this was the last straw. Hints were dropped on several threads of the last couple of months. You were called on several comments and never replied.
Weighty certs, all of them wrong imo. I might be back. Meanwhile, it is nice to be able to search new threads there without being logged in.

That if you have a CCW you can leave your loaded handgun in your car, and that the "direction and control" mentioned in the penal code refers to the vehicle, not the gun. I was responding to a particular post that said one has to have your gun within arms reach, if not on you.

Personally, I lock my stuff up, unloaded, in a mounted lock box (which starts a utility box discussion every time I bring it up there.)

Interesting. Anybody have anything else to add to this discussion. If running into a post office etc, can we leave our loaded gun in a locked car as long as it isn't on the post office property in this case?

It's telling that the intellectual horsepower of those banned from CalCCW is higher than those who remain.

You can't be charged with a crime for leaving your loaded handgun that's on your permit in your car. Common sense requires you to make sure it's secured in the car though. It can be a trap for the unwary though as the next driver of your car, if it's not you and they don't have that gun on their permit too, could be violating the bans on loaded carry and concealment.

Wonder if the "judge," "DDA" or "atty" can cite any relevant PC or case law to back that up. Another winning calccw.com moment.

True; that's why leaving a loaded gun (on the LTC) in a vehicle all the time is a bad idea, unless that LTC holder is the exclusive user of the vehicle.

But I'm not aware of any PC that would prohibit a LTC holder from leaving a loaded gun locked in one's car. Certainly don't want to keep loading/unloading at every stop where one cannot carry into the place; excessive gun handling like that is a leading contributor to negligent discharges.

I check there once a week and it seems as if there are only a couple of new threads with few comments. Many of which repeat the iron clad understanding that GC may not be discussed on CalCCW - the old term for LTC.

The sunrise initiative GC statements obtained by the GCF here are very helpful to new LTC applicants. Nice to have an open door here....

Judges know all. That's why I had dinner with a judge and she ask me about obtaining a Taurus Judge for her to use as a carry gun. Her son had just returned from Iraq and told her to get one. I set her straight (I think).

Pardon me, I overlooked you post. There was no discussion, but I had overstepped my bounds before, and got the hook. What I responded to was CCW training moment that indicated that one's firearm had to be in close proximity.
