Does anyone know the wait time on a modification (adding a firearm to permit) after qualifying and submitting application?

I just completed my training this weekend. As for modifications on the firearm, it's handled per basis with instructors in person during training. Red dots on factory slides are allowed as one of my three was a Glock 19 Gen5 MOS with Holosun 507c. No aftermarket slide cuts allowed. As for things like triggers, our instructor said: If your Shield 9mm came with a 5lbs trigger and you replace it with a 5lbs Apex should be okay, NOT a 2lbs trigger. As I said, they are handled in person, bring a backup in case it fails.Comment

When did you apply/livescan? Who was your instructor?Comment

I applied June 2020, Livescan took 5 months. I went with BRC Arms, I highly recommend them. Proceed to training email states training from the following approved vendors: https://www.solanocounty.com/civicax...x?blobid=32267
Other vendors will NOT be accepted.Last edited by Nuuze; 01-25-2021, 12:11 PM.Comment

Right on. If I get to that proceed to training stage I'll be going to Dobbs since he helped guide me through the application process.Comment

Going in today to pick up my CCW license. My timeline:
Applied: July 22, 2020
Phone Interview: Oct 24, 2020
Livescan: Oct 26, 2020
Proceed to Training: Jan 10, 2020
8 hour Training: Feb 13, 2020
Uploaded certificate: Feb 16, 2020
OK to pickup license: Feb 23, 2020
My reason was like 2 sentences simply saying I want to be able to defend myself and family if the need were to arise. Very simple statement. I've done Livescans before to work at my kids school so I didn't think it would be an issue and thankfully it wasn't.
I used Defensive Accuracy for the training. Zoom for the 4 hours of in-classroom and then at the Guns Fishing and Other Stuff in Vacaville for live fire. Overall good experience and I would recommend them.Comment

Hi guys,
Getting a bit frustrated here. Followed all the steps and sent all requirements. Reached out to follow up but still nothing. Apologies just venting. Anyone else waiting this long?
Hi everyone. Just applied for CCW today, interview in May. The forum has been a great resource. Thank you all. I hope I will be granted the CCW.

Scorpio,
You did all this in 2020 and havent heard back? Either the Sheriff Office lost it or something is wrong in your end. Have you tried physically going to the office and asking? I've heard of some applicants taking almost a year but very fewI"m just a PA native trying to understand CA laws

Something is wrong, have you checked your spam/junk folder for emails from them? If you haven’t gotten a proceed to training or denial letter by now either you missed it or they have lost you in the pile. I would call Deputy Pinder.
However back when I first applied it did take close to a year to completion.Comment

Yup I thought it would just take a while longer with all that was happening last year, but then I see others on this thread applying later but getting responses sooner.
Maybe I will give him a call just to check if I still needed to submit anything. But yeah, just getting frustrated I guess. And I thought Solano county was good on this.Comment
