    Hello

I can't find my permit and I do know it's somewhere here in the house. After looking for few days, decided to apply for a "Duplicate Copy". Solano County Sherriff's office asking for police report. Anyone here done this process before? Do you just go to police department and report a loss of CCW permit?

    Thank you!

Can you use an off-roster for CCW?

What are the requirements for registering a firearm for CCW? I have a Glock 45 I put on my list that has a top window cut. I didn't register any other firearm on this list. When do you have to have the final list of registered CCW guns?

              Good afternoon,

Quick question. I did my livescan on 8 March 2021. I am still waiting for my background to be done. Can I complete the Firearm Training before the background is completed?
The military takes my weekends, and I know I will have one free weekend on 12 June 2021 since I already requested a day off on that day. I don't want to jump ahead. However, I would like to get the training done and make sure I will be available and not flying.

              Thank you

From the Solano County Sheriff Instructions, Page 5:
                2. Each CCW license holder is mandated by California state law to attend a firearms safety class. Individuals are also required to qualify with their weapon(s) under the direction of a qualified range master to ensure that each license holder is competent in the safe handling of firearms. All weapons listed on a CCW license must be registered in the name of the license holder, or the license holder’s spouse.

                3. Please do not submit proof of training and qualification targets prior to Step 3 of the application process. Your training and qualification certification must be dated and submitted within 90 days of your approval notification.
                4. Proof of training and qualification can be hand delivered.
The statute prohibits the IA from requiring training prior to acceptance of good cause, but you can do it at your own risk. If you aren’t approved, the cost is on you with no recourse against the IA.

Depending how busy they are, I did my Livescan in August 2020 and didn't receive my "proceed to training" until January 2021. You must wait until SCSO "proceed to training" and use provided CCW instructors from their list. I went with BRC as as I'm available weekends. You can check out Dobbs, if I remember his classes are weekdays.

Thank you for the answers. I know I'm leaving soon for a few months... Hopefully I will be able to continue when I come back.

Hi everyone. Just applied for CCW today, interview in May. The forum has been a great resource. Thank you all. I hope I will be granted the CCW.

                          Applied: 3-24-2020
                          Interview: 5-12-2020
                          Livescan: 5-13-2020
Finally received a proceed to train as of 6-3-2021, after almost 13 months.
Apparently my previous livescan was incorrectly done. So I had to redo that last 5-15-2021.

Question: I'm looking at CCW initial cert classes and I might go with BRC. From what I understand, Solano County only needs me to do 8 hours, correct?

                          Thanks again y'all.

I did mine with Dave @ BRC and highly recommended. 4 hours in class and 4 hours at range. I brought 200 rds for 3 firearms and had leftover at end of day.

At what step of the process do you find out if you are approved or not? I had my interview with the Deputy and he told me to do my LiveScan
