Picked up my renewal from Kelly today.

Just a heads up. I submitted my renewal a couple of months early.. my original expiration date was 6/20. On the permit I picked up today it's 5/5.

        CCW in Solano County

Hello, I am new to this whole process and I have some questions. Will a DUI prevent a person from getting a CCW. Also they ask about any convictions, do convictions as a minor affect this process? Thank you in advance for any advice.

          That's all I put.
The investigator may ask if you have any other reasoning (camping, travel, etc) it's up to you to expand if you feel necessary.

If only the Solano sheriff would stop playing footsies w/our RKBA and get on board with accepting mere "lawful self-defense" as sufficient Good Cause....

I would say "affect", not necessarily "prevent". How long ago was this in your distant past and did you learn from it and make you a better person? Are you of "Good moral character" according to "the Sheriff"? If it was in your youth just be truthful on your app and explain why and lessons learned. Can't hurt to try, Go for it!

Yeah, i got the email also. Maybe time to give Kellie a call. Does anyone know if i can add my wifes gun to my permit and her add mine or does the gun have to be registered to me to be on my permit?

Good to hear! I was thinking of switching 1 handgun for another, but now I can just add it on.

UPDATE TO SHERIFF'S CCW WEB SITE

                              Calgunners:

Please follow this link to the updated information on how to obtain your CCW permit. Kellie Sayre, the CCW Coordinator, has her contact information listed on the site for questions that you may have.

As some of you may also know, the Sheriff has allowed a third firearm to be added to the list of carry weapons. Please see the instructions for the modification permit.

                              Thank you.

Thanks! I like the way they made it clear for initial applicants. Im sure they will have less phone calls with questions about the process.
