Conman. Would you mind sharing the process on the shooting part of the process. Distances? Both strong and weak hand? Anything else?
    Thanks

Yes, Qualifying was not too tough, you shouldn't have a problem as long as you practice at the range before you take the class. When we qualified, we only used two hands/dominant hand. We started out about five feet and emptied our magazine, took a step back and emptied our magazine again. We did this about five times, i think we ended up about ten feet away. My instructor focused more on stance, grip and trigger reset which improved my shooting right away. The class changed everything about the way i shoot for the better. I'm sure different instructors will have different qualification methods.

Getting ready to start the renewal process so I thought I would add some information. My apologies if it has been covered already.

Make sure to download the new application PDF from SCSO website. You can fill most of it out on your computer but the checkbox near the beginning for "renewal" can't.

For RENEWAL, cashiers check or money order
        Solano County Sheriff's Office - $25.43
        Department of Justice - $52.00

You do not need a DMV printout for renewals.

I will be using the same reasons from my original good cause statement.

Tony, do you still have to turn in qualification targets and go back to take a new photo for the permit ID?

I didn't specifically ask that, but my understanding has always been that re-qualification was necessary. Not sure if they take a new photo or just issue a new card with original photo.

Oh, and still only 2 handguns.

I am jumping in Dave's renewal class tomorrow. I guess I will just turn in my targets with my renewal application and fees.

....Is Solano CCW card laminated? Does it fit in the wallet?

You get both the rice paper that you can stash in your wallet somewhere and a hard card that you can present with your DL when necessary.

picked up my ccw permit today. the entire process(app, livescan, ect.) for me took about 5 months

definitely got to thank Dave Adams at BRCarms for the assistance and training

I completed my renewal training with Dave at BRC yesterday. Same course of fire for each of your guns from his initial training. Then an hour or so of classroom time for updates and more importantly Q&A from students.

Cost was $35 plus Centermass range/target fee of $11

He does the renewal classes once a month.

My LTC expires June 30 so I will be turning in my targets and application tomorrow.
