I leave for vacation on Wednesday and I am already guessing she will email or call me that same day to pick it up. lolUPDATE:
Got an e-mail from Kellie on Thursday that my CCW permit is signed and ready to setup an appointment for pickup!
...only problem is, I'm out of state/town for the next month and a half! Oh well, at least I know it's there waiting for me when I get back!

dropped it off 5 long agonizing days ago. haha
congrats.Comment

It took a solid 3 weeks to get mine after I dropped off my targets, which was on the high end of the estimated 1-3 weeks.
I'm in Idaho, and I drove...soooo, I'll just hold out until I get back, haha.
I would assume that appointments don't need as long a lead time as the appointment to drop of the initial, but I'll call the # provided and check.

Congrats to the two newest members of the Solano carry club. Been carrying for about a month in different configurations and different locals so here's a couple notes forum mbrs were right on. Don't fiddle with your junk too much as you're not printing as much as you think you are. I haven't been given a second glance since I started. Also remind your spouse or sig other that any argument she gets into could draw you in and it's a whole new situation now that you're carrying. I had to remind mine that I carry for our protection alone and that I (we) will always walk away if possible.
It is an odd / different / cool / calming feeling knowing you're one of the few armed citizens walking among the sheep class of this state. Good job again for getting thru the process.Last edited by cooker143; 09-14-2015, 5:13 PM.Comment

FINAL UPDATENext to last update:
Application submitted 3/23/2015
LiveScan completed 4/23/2015
2nd approval received 8/27/2015 (letter dated 8/23/2015)
Qualification paperwork submitted 8/28/2015 (took class 7/25/2015)
189 days in the process, so far. Another 1-3 weeks to go.
What, exactly, is reviewed in this last review. Seems like the LiveScan review would be the "make or break" review.
Congrats to all those who have recently received their permits. It seems like a long wait when you're in the middle of it.
Received an email from Kellie on 9/10/2015 that my permit was signed by the Sheriff.
Called the LiveScan Officer for an appt. He only makes appts on Thursdays, so I took his next available appt on 9/17/2015.
Today, I paid the rest of the local agency fees, put thumbprints on the three copies of the permit, signed it and drove home a very, very happy man.
Total time for the process was 209 days. I've gotta say, everyone I dealt with at the Sheriff's office was friendly and professional.Comment

Congratulations.
I must say that, for one, I never thought that I would see the day when folks were getting CCW permits in the good old PRK.
Encourage others to do the same.Comment

My appointment with the LiveScan Officer was at 1:30 p.m. I arrived at about 1:25, and he had three men gathered in the lobby, going over things before giving them their permits. At about 1:35, he came back into the lobby with three more files and called the three of us together. So in the span of about 15 minutes, I saw 6 CCW permits handed out. Personally, I have several friends who have recently gotten their permits, or will be submitting applications in the near future. I don't know exactly where the Sheriff draws the issue/no issue line, but I'd guess if a person's record is relatively clean they're going to get a permit. I know there are citizens who think it's "crazy" for someone to get a permit. But my feeling is that the more law abiding people who get a permit, the safer we should all feel. I, for one, am not a bit worried about honest, law-abiding folks carrying a weapon.
Yesterday, I dropped my application in the mail for an Arizona non-resident CCW permit. Most of the people on this site who have gotten theirs say that it takes about a month to get it. The application, fees, and process are so much easier than California's that it makes me wonder. But that's just the difference in political philosophy, for the most part.Last edited by Let's Go Plink; 09-20-2015, 1:21 AM.Comment

Same with me. I dropped off my address change modification form three weeks ago this Wednesday. I called her today and she said it's just awaiting a signature. She didn't mention any hold-ups to me either.
Unless it's some big secret at the Sheriff's Office that no one will state officially on the record.Comment
