So has anyone in San Joaquin received their CCW?

I ask because my brother in Lathrop would like to. Attempt as well.

40 pages going back to 2010 I couldn't read anymore.

    Thanks.

@zamble....did you not read the previous post?? The genie is out of the bottle...he can't go back!! Plus Withrow is saying anything you want to hear that he thinks will get him elected...you don't think so?? His statements about building modulars for the jail can't be done in California. California correctional standards(and state law) DO NOT allow it. Don't believe it? Go look it up yourself.

As for "a decent share of the deputies support him"....who told you that? Pat Withrow? Ask him to post publicly available links that show the numbers. I bet he doesn't. For that matter, ask him to post links substantiating that any of his ideas are valid. You believe in him? Great. I respect your opinion. Just don't be misled by someone who will say anything to get elected and has no administrative/finance or big picture experience. For me, I would rather have an experienced, seasoned administrator running a $100 million dollar company than a staff level supervisor.

Acampo, reading through the Adult Detention Facilities (Minimum Standards for Local Detention Facilities) Title 24 Regulations on Corrections website, I see nothing prohibiting a modular jail complex. Maybe I missed it. I've attached it so you can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

To Acampo, and to all who thinks that S.M is a changed man . You need to judge S.M on his past practices and his personal stand on the ccw. S.M and since October 2010 (first date in this thread) have systematically denied or demanded so many restrictions on ccw to the point being worthless. he is not a ccw friendly nor he ever will . The only thing that have changed is that it is not in his hand or up to him any more. "For right now" . This is from his website(Check the picture). He never said he was willing to do it on his own the only wordy out of his mouth that he will follow the ruling of the court. I think that Pat sincerely believe that if a person qualify should be able to get a CCW .all people running for some kind of office will tell you what you want to hear but at least we know we're both of the 2014 candidates stand on CCW. Pat have said it out in the open he is for ccw. S.M said he will obey the court ruling. And as far as experience S.M. have been in the office since 2009 its just been getting worse and worse for people being booked into jail and released right away because of no space available. he just lost 30 million dollar for jail upgrade from the state because he wanted to do it his way not by state guideline. that by it self till you that its his way or the highway. should be enough and lets try someone different with different ideas and if he end up the same will vote for the best choice next go around.

Had my appointment this morning. Wasnt much of an "interview", just went over the app and signed everything. Said my app looked good and didnt see anything that would hold anything up. He just described the process and said that DOJ finger printing will probably take a long time since they are so backed up. He said the process on their end for the background checks and local checks would take about 4-6 weeks, and will only start that once the finger prints come back. He said after he signs off on it then the lieutenant signs off on it and finally the sheriff reviews each one personally. So now its just a waiting game.

Don't forget to pay the $20 fee because they forgot to collect it from one guy and were going to have to call him back in to pay.

Actually I did read what you had to say and I disagree. The genie is not necessarily out of the bottle for ccw's. It is pending the decision with Kamala. Even then, he can still play around with the GMC. SM is a politician, he's playing a game. If the en banc is allowed and overturned, do you think SM will say, it's okay guys, I will still issue them...? No he won't. It is a proven fact based on his past actions he will deny. Withrow may be playing for votes, but I will take that, over what we know is already here.

I would rather have a field supervisor take the reins, for a possible positive change. Than have one set in his old die hard ways. Maybe when the state comes trying to find victims from a crime he won't get his panties in a bind next time they come through, eh?

The officer at my interview said that it would likely be longer than 90 days for the finger prints to come back and THEN start the 4-6 weeks in house process for background and local checks on me and have everyone sign off on the file. He said that DOJ contact he deals with is so overwhelmed she was thinking about quitting because she has no help. Sounds pretty bad. Just have to wait wait wait....

Sounds like something our good friend Gov. Jerry Brown might be able to help with....

That would be something you think the DROS fees would help with. Oh wait they took all of that money.
